I thought it was a good idea for him to move to WR. He did not have a big NFL arm but has enough speed to be good as a reciever. If he was going to go to the NFL this was his only chance. I guess you could say he just pissed in his oatmeal.

Chappelle's arm/accuracy is comparable and perhaps better than Kellen Lewis'. The big differentiator is elusiveness and rushing ability. Lewis was Hoosier's 2nd leading rusher with 500 yrds and 3 rushing TDs. Hoosiers have 19-20 starters back from last fall. Losing Lewis is just more "bad news".

Lewis was reportedly going to be a wide receiver this season, anyway. Instinct tells me that Lynch read the proverbial writing on the wall (that Lewis is a fool), made a prediction (that fools don't last long), and started focusing on developing an offense for the quarterback he most expected to last until August (the one that wasn't a fool). I think that explains why Lynch moved Lewis to WR in the first place (as opposed to keeping him at QB for the possibility of starting, or at least for QB competition). As far as I'm concerned, Lynch might have taken a page out of Damage Control 101 in dealing with this situation the way he has over the last month(s). It may be a holey theory, but it has a couple of merits, at least. Conversely though, we could also allow ourselves to theorize that Lewis might have felt so jaded by his position switch that he began to engage in riskier behavior than he would have had he remained at QB. Only theories, though; theories all. Well, that is to say everything herein is a theory except this: "Lewis is a fool."
