OT-ish: 2022 in-state ATH Tyrell Henry to MSU

Roseville (MI) Roseville wide receiver/cornerback Tyrell Henry committed to Michigan State. He's a 3-star, the #46 athlete, and #560 overall. He held a Michigan offer.

Nah - they have started reaching new (old) lows in recruiting after the unceremonious end to the dantonio era within the last two years. This new low has not played out on the field yet. Their poor recruiting will age like old cheese (not a fine wine). Enjoy the anticipation now! (unless, of course, you don’t cheer for Michigan - in that case: sorry for ya! ? )

This is interesting.  Because I kinda liked the moves Tucker has made and some of his recruits/transfers.   Esp the qbs russo and Fay and the Auburn rb.

I'm hoping you're right, that the wave will hit them soon like it did us this year from those bad classes we had

He's a borderline Michigan guy, IMO. He's thin like Ambry Thomas but doesn't have the same explosiveness. Michigan's new cornerbacks coach, Mo Linguist, has offered a bunch of bigger corners (6'0", 6'1" and 175-185 lbs.) and Henry doesn't fit that mold.

So I'm not sure Michigan would be too keen on him at this point.

If Tyrell Henry had committed to Michigan:

a) the Three Star Mafia (tm) would have been fully engaged with both torches and pitchforks in order to fully castigate the new staff.

b) Mike MacDonald, defensive coordinator, would have been blamed for not recruiting athletes "necessary to beat T(tm)OSU.

c) The credibility of new "ace recruiter" Maurice Linguist would be called into question.

d) Hurr Hurr Harbaugh etc.

However, since Tyrell Henry has committed to Sparty:

a) Michigan not getting in on in-state talent, especially in the defensive backfield.

b) Questions about Mike MacDonald and his defensive staff relationships with in-state coaches

c) Probably "criminally underrated" who will be a "late riser" with "toughness" and "attitude"

d) Harbaugh losing ground in-state to Sparty in recruiting.

That should about cover it.

Coached against him this year. Was a non factor all game; 1 rec and a few jet sweep carries. Their SO WR who is their coach’s son was more impressive.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he is processed out. He is not an impressive WR but not a bad CB.
