OT- Combining Brian’s prose with a Japanese game show
Oddly enough, I came across this today and it brought back the post-Illinois reflections of cosmic pain as a result of the spiritual dong punch. Luckily, the Japanese culture allows certain things to not be litigated and brings forth a physical representation of that fateful post. This show inadvertently plays out those final 6 B10 games with its actors from the initial Yellow dude “Hey this Iowa loss is not that bad” to the guy in Red where the inevitable must be accepted. I am sure you can sympathize with these gentlemen.

I don't think I want to know what you were searching for when you found this.

Credit them for the background research. It was a link for Craziest Japanese Game Shows or something like that. It was definitely not the strangest. However, it was very fitting when I saw it.

I spent some time in Japan back in the 90s. I still remember watching a crazy game/variety show where some guy was interviewing some golfer – it may have been Jumbo Ozaki – on a green. It was 2-3 minutes of very general Q&A, then all of the sudden the interviewer hands Jumbo a BB gun. The camera pans and there are 3-4 totally dudes who are carrying metal trash can lids but are otherwise naked. Jumbo just starts firing on these crazy SOBs while they’re running around on the green, trying to protect themselves with the lids. The whole time the host is laughing maniacally. This goes on for an excruciating 5 minutes, then the show immediately goes into a long skit based on the ending of “Juice”. Seriously, “Juice,” with all parts played by Asian guys.
Surreal doesn’t even begin to describe this stuff.
