OSU OL/Bama transfer Chad Lindsay career over

Submitted by readyourguard on
The Center that considered Michigan before choosing to play his grad transfer year for OSU has to retire from the game due to injuries. That's a tough break for the kid. Hopefully he doesn't have any long-term effects to his body or brain. Good luck in the future. http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2014/09/ohio_state_senior_center…

As I recall from reading the notes on Ohio State practices a few weeks ago, he was limited at some point because of a shoulder injury, but there was no other definite mention past the middle of August and no indication as to the severity of it. If it is serious enough to stop him from playing, that's sad - hopefully, he builds himself a great future all the same.

He was in a position battle with Jacoby Boren for the starting center spot even before the injury (which happened in fall camp). It's not known what the injury was, but he re-aggravated it last week, leading to this. He didn't play any snaps, though.

I guess that explains why he wasn't playing at OSU.  Wish him the best; at least he got to graduate from Alabama and will hopefully live a long and fulfilling life.

He seemed to do all the right things to try to extend his career, sad to see that dream cut short.  But I think he made the right choice to walk away with his (hopefully) health intact and can recover fully.
