Netflix's Last Chance U season 2 is available today
Sweet! Thanks for the info.
Nice. Time to get the football juices flowing.
Awesome news.
I know what I am doing this weekend then when I am not being asked to do things around the house. Since it is supposed to rain like nothing else tomorrow, that's as good an excuse as any to stay in and watch it.
Was blown away at how underrated this series was last year.
I liked this way better than Undefeated, and that one the Oscar (though I'm not sure why).
I loved season 1. One underrated part of the show is the music. The show introduced me to Pops Staples. Hopefully season 2 is just as good.
makes an appearance in Episode #3.
He appears to recover a fumble in the first game.
Just watched the first episode. Didn't care for the helmets.
A couple thoughts after one (1) episode:
1) Coach Buddy was concerned about swearing and how he looked in Season 1. I'm not sure that held up through the first game.
2) Miss B - I have an irrational love for her. Even though an am somewhat happily married and I live in the south, southern women could make me do really stupid things. I think she has moved on from EMCC since the conclusion of Season 2.
3) I'm worried about the Lions QB depth. Their QB1 was playing with a short roster in the first game, but I wasn't impressed with his attitude and decision-making.
4) The Lions defense looks solid.
5) I want to see more "regular" students. Or equipment managers, etc. Not sure why.
6) I love the super-fan guy who does the Lion growls.
In the first 2 episodes Ms. B comes across as a lot more somber than she did in the first season. She definitely seems a lot more reserved around the cameras than before. She was a big part of things and I hope she doesn't hold back too much.
Finished the first 2 episodes and I think that is all for me. It's the same crap over and over.
Seems like it is basically seaoson one all over again with the exception of REMOVE OLLIE INSERT SNOOP.
My thoughts:
1. Buddy Stephens came across to me as fake and he's a win at all cost kind of guy. He doesn't know how to manage people which is funny considering he's recruiting players who transferred because of academics, off-field problems or have character issues. He lacks the ability to relate to his players. If a player can help him win games, he's more leinent towards them like he did with Kam Carter. If not, he'll just discard them like he did with Isaiah Wright though Isaiah didn't help his case at times.
2. Miss Wagner is awesome. She has empthy and compassionate towards players and doesn't judge for who they are. It's clear the players loved her and always was seen hanging out at her office.
3. Davern Williams, the DL coach, is a rockstar. I think he's destined to move up to D1 rank. He can relate to players well. Towards the end of the season, he knew that Kam was a lost cause because it's clear he hasn't changed and learned from his mistakes. He encouraged players when they're not doing well like he did with Tim Bonner.
4. Kam Carter may be talented as hell but he's lazy. Not hard to see why he got kicked out of PSU. I've read that Buddy pulled some strings behind the scene to keep him on the team.
5. Dakota Allen, the documentary potrayed him in a positive way. Looks he like took his academics seriously and stayed out of trouble. His armed robbery charge is a huge deal but hopefully he learned his lesson as he gets back to TT. It's pretty clear that he's a leader of the defense at EMCC.
6. De'Andre Johnson is a classic case of a guy who made a bad decision that affected his career and will follow him for the rest of his career. The documentary painted him in a positive light that he did his work and stayed out trouble. Like Dakota Allen, I hope that it's his only mistake and grow from it. Going to be interesting to see how he'll do at FAU with Kiffin as the HC.
7. Brian Cole made a couple of cameo but wasn't featured prominently. As we all know, he's going to Hail State
I binged the series over the weekend. I wrong about a few things.
