Michigan - Illinois 2010 on BTN now

Submitted by pasadenablue on

Flip it to BTN to watch the 67-65 3OT affair from last year.  It's a good time killer until the Tigers game starts.

Probably the high water mark of the Rich Rodriguez era as well as the last shining moment of Tate's Michigan career.

The game also features current Lions RB Mikael Leshoure.

Also, for you Wings fans out there, Game 1 of this past year's playoff series against the yotes is on NHL network.

You would think that they could add more games. Great games that they are playing but with Michigan there are so many great ones. Seems like it is always 2010 Ill, 1993 Rose Bowl, 1969 Ohio, 1998 Rose Bowl and once in awhile 2003 Minnesota. there are quite a few I would love to see again. I've also seen 2010 Indiana quite a few times.

I think its due to cost.  BTN owns the rights to the game on right now (since they broadcast it).  A lot of those older games are owned by ESPN/ABC, and so BTN has to pay a fee whenever they air those games.  So its much cheaper for them to show their own games over and over.

I remember when the channel first came on the air and BTN would play nothing other than Michigan vs. Appalachian State. Couldn't shop at Best Buy and other stores that sold hi-def televisions for the rest of September.

Come to think of it, maybe that's why Comcast didn't include BTN as part of the basic package for so long; if that's the case, I really don't blame them.

We lost both the '84 and '85 Iowa games. The '84 game was shortly after Harbaugh broke his arm against MSU and was probably the worst loss of the Schembechler era (26-0).

The '83 and '86 Iowa games were both close wins, though.

Think it was the 1993 Rose Bowl because 1994 was Wisconsin. I've also seen the 2001 Citrus Bowl recently with Auburn and also the 2010 Indiana game a couple times. Another that I saw was the 2000 Northwestern game.
