Rich Eisen summed up this fall perfectly the other day on his podcast:
- Michigan beat OSU
- Michigan is B1G Champs and in the CFP
- Michigan got to knock off historical thorn-in-the-side Iowa to win the conference
- Michigan getting into the CFP ensured that Notre Dame didn't get to back their way in (and he took a shot at them not being in a conference)
- MSU's "historic" win over us back in October has been relegated to a footnote and it garnered them nothing better than a Peach Bowl bid against Pitt
- OSU is "settling" for the Rose Bowl against a Utah squad that will be looking to get a program defining win against them (upset alert).

I love how much this hurts OSU and their fans. I didn't realize they were going for an unprecedented 5th straight outright B1G Championship this year. Everything was on the line and Ryan Day blew it! I love it.

I was originally pissed that we lost to msu, but if we hadn't, it's possible we wouldn't have been paired up with uga in the playoff due to a #1 ranking. I want Michigan to hand uga a loss so badly that I'm happy it worked out that way. The bonus is that if we win it all, msu will be raw about it forever. Perfect.

I've seen too many undefeated teams crumble when the stakes get too high. Having that one loss really keeps the mindset in the right place and reminds the team they are not invincible, and that they still have work to do. I was irate as well (especially with the officiating), but all things considered, I would have traded that game away to get all the rest we have on the table. No doubt about it.

Otherwise, is has certainly been a jubilant last week of being a Michigan fan-well, except for that hockey loss.

Reporting from enemy territory down here in Metro ATL. Listening do the local media bitch about Kirby Smart is almost a carbon copy of prior Harbaugh complaints. He can recruit QB talent, but can’t develop or retain it (Justin Fields, JT Daniels, etc.). He plays favorites, etc. If you didn’t know better, you’d think GA went 2-4 last year and was recruiting at a middling SEC pace.
