Greg Mattison on Harbaugh's staff? He's still recruiting
Found this interesting piece on Twitter.
Isaac Nauta is the #1 TE out of Buford, GA and is an FSU commit.
Isaac Nauta (@inauta24) said he talked to Greg Mattison: “He said I know you’re committed, but we’re going to recruit you until you sign.”

But will still be tough to pry Isaac Nauta (@inauta24) away from #FSU. He loves Tim Brewster and how he could feature in #Noles’ offense.

Mattison is still under contract to U-M through the 2016 season. Might as well get some work out of him.

But the entire staff was instructed to cease all recruiting the day after Hoke was fired. If Mattison is back at it, that means he's on the new staff in some capacity. I'm glad to see that. Hopefully he and Durkin work well together and shore up our weak spots.

that Mattison and iirc Hecklinski were exceptions to this. Oh,and Singletary too I believe.

I'd like to see that. Do you have a link?

Along with Durkin.
No surprise...but this is solid confirmation.

Run game coordinator like he was at USC.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the OC tag like Magee had w/ RR, to give Wheatley some incentive to come as run game coordinator.

Because that would likely put Morton as WR coach and Pass Game Coordinator.

I could only find a GatorFanatic article that didn't have the terms (and was also a couple days old), but they had said as early as the 30th that it would happen. If so, Durkin and Mattison having roles on this defense makes me think we can put something together that is, to use a favorite phrase of my son's, "scary good".

I think it's dumb that a 6-5 Florida team is playing a January 3rd bowl game.

A link or something, man. Help me out!

a six year deal for a DC? That's a lot of years/$ considering coordinators are the 1st thing to go if things get rough.

He probably can't make it official. Possibly also why poster above's contact was told Michigan hadn't even contacted him. (Sound familiar?)

But that's only from what I've been reading here.

Nauta is 2016.
January 1st, 2015 at 7:42 PM ^
And I obviously haven't been reading thoroughly enough. Or in the wrong order. The front page recruiting page says Chris Clark is #2 tight end.

Nauta, an FSU commit, has family in Michigan said all his family text him when Harbaugh was hired telling him to come home to Michigan

I don't pay for Scout, so I can only speculate. Who else could it be?

Mattison costs more to get rid of then keep and his defense was pretty good. He's a good recruiter and he won't be the only d cordinator so why not keep him.

The HS junior Isaac Nauta also has some reality TV time on his resume.

He was on a show called chrisley knows best on USA Network.

Ugh. That's a black mark on any resumé. Chrisley and his family are moronic freaks.
January 1st, 2015 at 3:41 PM ^
Once the reports came out he hadn't really left the area when Hoke was fired, it felt like this could be a possibility. Man, this team is going to be a monster on the recruiting trail the next couple of years.

Mattison is a good coach and is under contract, so I don't see why not. At the end of the day, I trust Harbaugh on it.
