ESPN All-American Team

Didn't see this posted already, but ESPN has released their All-American team.  Michigan lands one player on it, Jake Butt. Surprising that Jourdan Lewis didnt make the list.  Link below.

TE: Jake Butt, Michigan

Teammates say the 2015 All-American is deceptively fast and uses his body to get open as well as anyone in the country. Equipped with a coaching staff that makes good use of its tight ends, it's a safe bet that Butt is on his way to a second-straight season of 50-plus catches. -- Dan Murphy

I'll take Jourdan Lewis over Jalen Tabor all day.

Wasn't that the same guy who mouthed off before the Citrus Bowl and said something like "We have 11 Jabrill Peppers on our defense."

Might want to look around, Jalen. I think Chesson just scored another TD on you.

So if Mike Williams from Clemson missed the entire season with an injury after he caught one TD pass of 20 yards, why it he listed as a first team all-american by ESPN? Are they saying that even though he missed basically the entire 2015 season, he is still the 2nd best receiver in the country from last year. I don't understand why, other than it is ESPN.

I would put Lewis over any other CB right now if you're looking for a pure cover guy.  King, while very good, played a ton of zone allowing him to make picks.  The fact that Lewis pressed all year long and turned in such great performances is amazing.  The only thing that will hold him out of the 1st round of the draft is if UM doesn't win/get enough hype, or his size.

I agree that is a more interesting discussion. I have no doubt the 8 picks stood out. I would have also hoped the 18 PBU's for Lewis stood out as well. Sadly, I don't think the voters of these awards understand the fine points to compare one corner playing in one scheme with another corner playing in a different scheme.

If they did understand the finer points of football, Jake Butt would be the returning Mackey Award winner. And yes, I'm biased on that one too.
