It is incredible how well they handled telling the story.. I actually had a best friend of mine lose his first hs love g/f in a car wreck. He also went to UM, She died over thanksgiving wkend. I have never seen something so devasting completely change someones outlook on life. It has completely destroyed my friend, and while he was at UM he drank non-stop. He still struggles with a lot of it, but it is incredible that this family has been as strong as they are.

Almost makes up for the constant LeBron coverage. Glad ESPN did this.

Still get choked up every time I hear the story. Absolutely an inspiration. One of the many reasons I love the university of Michigan and always will. I hope Brock has continued success in his rehab. Go Blue!!

puts into question our own level of personal strength to get through something as horrible as this. Odds are most of us would FAIL.

For those you didn't see the video here is a link to a search on ESPN and the video is right there. http://search.espn.go.com/e60/

I don't have cable, but knew I could count on someone here to put on the link. Thanks much, and plus one to you, sir.
I tear up every time I see this. Thought ESPN did a very nice job, better than the BTN story last month. I really love Barwis, and can see there are tons of behind the scenes things he and Rich Rodriguez are doing. In fact, I am now at a point, setting football aside, where I feel better about RR and Barwis than Lloyd and Bo. I am so glad they are here, and I'm proud of what they are doing.

Missed it, but a friend of mine told me he was crying while watching ESPN. Must have been a good one, gotta check it out soon.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
If that doesn't make you cry, I don't know what will
October 5th, 2010 at 9:56 PM ^
does anybody know where i could watch the whole thing or if it will be posted somewhere sometime soon?

Sorry to bring him up, but this is a prime example of how much Rich Rod and Barwis care for their players. You say the players shaking Brock's hand right before he went on to the field. And the fact Barwis and the rest of Michigan Strength and Conditioning picked up Brock's rehab after insurance ran out makes Barwis that much more of a man. Never tried of this story.

Very touching. I love this team so much.

My wife and I have been following this story when it first came out last year and we were touched by it....when we took our firts trip to Ann Arbor for the Bowling Green game, my wife wanted to meet Brock Mealer. Luckly we saw him after the game and my wife got her picture taken with Brock and Elliot. It was one of the highlights of our 1st trip to Michigan.
