Now my afternoon has to consist of constantly refreshing the front page in anticipation.
Thanks a LOT...
EDIT: Now my afternoon consists of watching that clip again and again, with his touchdown against WMU mixed in for good measure.

What is a fast time for the 60? I don't know. What is his 40yd dash time? Anyone know for sure?

6.81 sec in the 60 meters converts to a 4.15 sec in the 40 yard dash.
Of course, you can't make a direct conversion because you don't know if he got a quick start and was slower over the last 20 meters or got a slow start and sped up over the last 20 meters, but it's close enough...
One of the UM engineering student on here wanna double check my math? I was only a lowly business major at a non-UM school. ;-)

I don't see any of your math, but a 4.15 is not likely.

convert meters to inches: 39.36 in/m * 60 m = 2361.6 in
convert inches to yards: 2361.6 in / 36 in/yd = 65.6 yds
6.81 sec X.XX sec (6.81 s) * (40 yd)
---------- = ----------- = ------------------ = 4.15 s
65.6 yds 40 yds 65.6 yd

At the gun, his speed is 0. To get to top speed, the first few dozen meters are all acceleration. He wouldn't hit top speed until at LEAST half-way through the race. Therefore, in a 60m race, the last 20 meters will always be the fastest, and his speed in the first 40 will be well below the total race average.
It's roughly this:
But don't worry, he's still hella fast.

Yeah, usually an athlete can't get to top speed in the 40 until it's almost over, so how fast he accelerates and how quickly he can get to top speed is just as important than his top speed itself.

The most over-analyzed athletic event of all time (In comparision to it's complexities)has to be the 40 yard dash. Your post just reminded me of countless videos put out there to "help" athletes with their 40.

he's really fast

Usain Bolt better watch out

You can watch out for Denard... but by the time your brain can process the fact that he's coming for you, he's there.

currently 17th in the NCAA but it's early and a lot of teams haven't opened up yet. If he runs 6.71 he has a shot to make the NCAA finals. About 15-20 make the ncaas each year.
