Coach Rod is All In For Michigan

Submitted by ToughD on
It's great reading blogs and stories as well as watching current and former players profess their support in Coach Rod and his staff.  It's very encouraging and shows strong signs of a football program that is cohesive and one that is not only on the up swing but also, very soon, back at the top.  Last week I thought to myself, "I'm reading and hearing about all this support for Coach Rod but what about the man himself?  Is he All In?"
Coach Rod has been been through so much since his arrival in Ann Arbor.  In fact it all started even before he found a house to settle in on.  Many Michigan fans know the details so I don't need to rehash it.  But when you look at all this guy's been through I can't help but think it takes a lot of character to suffer through the crap he's been through and still be "All In For Michigan".  Currently I'm reading the book "Bo's Lasting Lessons".  By the way great book; highly recommend it!!  When reading it I can't help but draw similarities between Bo and Rod.  They both are able to challenge you mentally, physically, academically, and personally.  They bring the best out of you; talents and abilities you didn't even know you had.  They do it not because they just want to win football games but because they want you, the student-athlete, to win on and off the field.  I believe that's what being a "Michigan Man" football coach is all about.
Personally I look up to Coach Rod for sticking it out and perservering.  I can only imagine what he and his family have gone through.  I've been a Michigan fan for about 22 years and in that time I've not seen a team have this much joy, excitement, and flat out fun as this team has.  They have been through a lot and have worked very hard to be 2-0.  It's amazing how much of a difference just one year has made.

I'll tell you this much, Coach Rod will be successful here at U of M because he is a Michigan Man and is All In For Michigan.

Amen..... I agree 100%. Go Blue. Man am I excited. After the last game I bought tickets to this weekends game because I need to be there to see EVERYTHING hands on. I want to see the Victors March, the excitement that has come, and the team play - in person. Yes it is EMU, but who cares this is fun and we should all have fun w/ this no matter the record at the end of the year. It is, after all, a game!

I thought it was harsh of him to fire all of Lloyd's assistants and then hire only Fred Jackson back. But given the sh*t storm he's been through, all of those assistants who know him and have no doubts about his system, has to be a huge source of strength.

Also due praise are Minor, Graham, Warren, Obi and the other players who have stood up for their coaches and repeated their love for Michigan and RR.

It's quite amazing in the modern era of sports how quickly the sports media change their opinions when success changes. Two weeks ago all we heard about was how Coach Rod was on the hot seat and now Michigan seems to be the hot topic of college football. I hate how the media writes the story lines before they happen (in sports) and quickly alters that story when it doesn't happen.

I've been a Michigan fan since I was a little child and my parents being from OH and my dad graduating from that school down south, I have had many heated conversations with them about RIchRod. I have always been behind him since the hiring and am so glad to see him succeeding here.

UM players learning "the code" of class and doing things like handing the ball to the refs after a touchdown provides sharp contrast to the ND players, who are showing up opponents and not being taught the discipline and tact they will need to succeed in the world outside of football. RR is equipping his players for success after football; Charlie Weis is sadly neglecting that part of his duty to the young men he recruits and the parents to whom he promises he will "take care of" their sons.
