Best radio game stream for Verizon smart phone?
I'm going to be out of pocket for the first half. To this day, I still don't have a radio stream I'm confident in using on my phone. I've tried WTKA but it's very spotty for whatever reason. Tune in radio is a good app but has its share of issues as well.
Any suggestions?

There's usually a link to the radio stream on the front page. You have to keep your browser open, but the stream works.

I usually miss the noon games because of work so I downloaded the IHeart radio app. Once you do that go to cities and tap Grand Rapids and click on Wood Radio.

This is what I do as well, I've found Iheartradio a little more stable than tunein.

Same here I tried listening to numerous podcasts and three to four minutes into the podcast it would pause permanently and never start back up

That's exactly what happens to me. Hopefully they have an update soon. My live stream won't work either.

I have an iphone, and tunein radio works the best, by far. That's what I'd recommend, but it looks like you are having issues with it. Now that we are on the subject, what radio station are Michigan games usually broadcasted on?

...check out iHeart radio. Head to Grand Rapids and wood radio. I'm in Louisville, KY and when in the car I can listen to Beckmann's call crystal clear.

This is the official app for Michigan sports in the app market. There is a little button for listen live under the score (and shows the play by play) and then you have to pay a couple bucks to install another app (thank you cbs) to get the live stream but it does work and will work for listening to all Michigan sports thru the app. I have had mixed success using tunein and this has worked everytime.

go to mgoblue.com and gameday central and just click on the live audio link.
I have tried wtka and th othe other detroit radio stations listed as being in the radio network in the past an have not had luck finding one that streams the game online.

I posted a thread on this last year that got stickied in the mgoboard, its still there -
Here is my general advice (I am a sprint android user, if that gives you hope), and yes this worked as of last week.
4. To listen to the game on your Iphone or Android: 1. Go to the App store and get the free application "iheartradio". 2. Run the "iheartradio" app. 3. Go to the all cities link, and search for Grand Rapids, Michigan. 4. Search for the station WOOD 1300AM, the game will be on there. [Blue Okie provides an additional source: Big Ten Network app for smart phones also carries the radio broadcast for each team.]
*How to listen to our announcers versus Pam Ward: In the past, the stream on the net was so far behind the video broadcast that you could use a DVR to hold the video for a few moments and the play by play would then catch up. This year at least in the first few games the mgoblue feed has been much quicker and thus you could not do this anymore. I am happy to report that as of yesterday the 'iheartradio' feed is significantly behind the video (at least on ESPNU) and thus you could listen to our announcers, and watch the video using a DVR to match the two up.
