2024 wr, son of jonathan

[On3]

We've got a couple Hellos to plow through after this past weekend saw Michigan land a couple commitments. The first of which is Illinois WR I'Marion Stewart, who shut his commitment down after many months of having the Wolverines as his clear favorite. Stewart is now the second WR in Michigan's 2024 recruiting class, as the program continues to round out the offensive side of the ball in this class.

Stewart is a 3* to three of the four major scouting outfits, Rivals being the outlier on the high side. There is some thought that Stewart may be a riser over his senior season now that he has transferred to Kenwood Academy, but we shall see about that. Regardless, he's a classic recruit caught between being a 3.5* and true 4* status, outside the top 300, but not too far out. The measurements are pretty consistent, 6'1" the most generous listing though based on the scouting reports, I'd think 6'0" is closer to the truth. 180 is a decent consensus for where Stewart's weight is at this time.

Michigan landed their first WR of the 2024 recruiting class on Sunday in Channing Goodwin out of Providence Day School, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Let's get to know our newest Wolverine

An interesting dynamic here with the ratings, 247 on the high end with Goodwin inside the top 250, ESPN and Rivals in harmony around 3.75, while On3 is waaaay down at 3.53. I don't know exactly what the driving force is here in the divergence between the ratings, but it will be interesting to see if this gap closes some over Goodwin's senior season, or if it will remain wide. We should also note that there is no dispute about Goodwin's measurements between these sites. Pulling it together in a consensus format has Goodwin as a high 3*, but still towards the back of our database of WR recruits since 1990.

[AFTER THE JUMP: A trusty chain-mover]

[247Sports]

The Michigan Wolverines have picked up their first WR for the 2024 recruiting class in Channing Goodwin out of Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina:

Goodwin is a 3*, just outside the top 500 in the 247 composite and #436 in the On3 Consensus. However, 247's own ranking of Goodwin has him as a 4*, inside the top 250, so there is some considerable variation here. If you recall Providence Day School, it is also the home to Michigan 5* QB commit Jadyn Davis. Goodwin is one of two Davis receivers that Michigan is after (uncommitted Jordan Shipp is the other), long considered the more likely of the two to end up in the class due to the family legacy: Goodwin's father is Jonathon Goodwin, Michigan OL from 1998-2001. Goodwin is the first WR in the 2024 class for Michigan, with further targets consisting of Shipp, I'Marion Stewart (IL), and Gatlin Bair (ID), among others. Goodwin is the 16th (including PWO FB Zach Ludwig) recruit to commit to Michigan in the 2024 class, as the Wolverines continue on a recruiting rampage that currenlty has them 1st nationally in team rankings.

Goodwin will get a hello in the coming days. There is no content after the jump.

Here I was about to say "Belleville" without a sigh of resignation and you have to go and bring LSU into it.
