Recent Jace Howard Crystal Ball Activity

Sam Webb put in a crystal ball yesterday and Josh Newkirk put in a crystal ball today for Jace Howard to Michigan. While we've known that Jace was probably going to Michigan for a while, I find these 2 crystal balls interesting due to the recent developments of Josh Christopher getting a futurecast from Corey Evans, Greg Brown planning to take a visit, and the amount of open scholarships we have being dubious. Perhaps Jace is planning on committing soon? And will he take a scholarship?

Jace is ranked 249. I went back 10 years of Michigan recruiting to kind of see where people ranked in that ball park or lower have fared here. Caris was 239, Jordan Morgan was 321, Aubrey Dawkins was 396, Rahkman was 434, Ibi Watson 239, Brooks 201 and Nunez 307. Two are still here, with Eli starting, Caris in the NBA, Morgan overseas, two transferred, and Rahkman was pretty effective here. These guys were surrounded by other talented players and were able to fit in.
This obviously was all under Beilein who looked for diamonds in the rough and coached them up. Howard looks to be bringing in all top 125 talent. Like I said in another post, it'll be interesting to see exactly what he commits as.

Does the status have to be declared at the time of committing? He can’t sign for several weeks anyway, right? Why sweat it now. If he picks Michigan, we will have 4 unsigned commits. Plenty of time to sort it all out.
We can over sign by one. Wouldn’t that be nice for a change instead of having one or two unused scholarships.
