B1G coaches discuss Halloween Candy

Submitted by Wolverine In Exile on October 28th, 2022 at 8:56 AM

So B1GNetwork's twitter account posted a video where they asked B1G coaches about Halloween candy. Best and worst, many calling out candy corn as horrible (I'm a fan, but whatever).

But the highlights are Bret Bielema admitting "do I look like a guy who has passed up a lot of candy?", and our own coach in as serious a tone and look as you can muster answered his favorite was Baby Ruth.

Baby Ruth is a good choice, so is the "100 Grand".

FWIW, I've heard that the "100 Grand" bar is the candy of choice for the Bucks, every team in the SEC, and Clemson.   Apparently, there's a "bulk purchase" option that those teams have taken advantage of for decades.

Most of you people have terrible taste in candy.  Candy corn is good - not the best, but certainly worthy of a place on the shelf.  It's raw sugar wrapped in sweetened wax!  Peeps are AWESOME - sugar coated marshmallow, whats not to like!!!??  Although I can eat me some circus peanuts, I'll allow that they're not that good.  Necco wafers are horrible and should be shot into the sun.

100 Grand is probably my favorite candy bar.  But I also loves me some Heath, Mounds, and caramel Milky Way.  I mean, I can put caramel on a steak...  (I'm not going to, but I could, because they're both awesome.)

Maybe a hot take, but I don't get the people who HATE candy corn. Like is it my favorite? No, but it's just kinda soft and vaguely chewy and tastes like butter and sugar

And yet...  People eat those hot dogs (and other assorted 'items') on the 7-11 roller grills.  I don't get it.  But how does anything go wrong when sugar and butter is mixed together and allowed to be its sweet, buttery sweetness?

I mean, if you're in a pinch and need a candy fix, melt down some butter and mix some sugar into it.  I promise you'll like it...

As a kid, I hated the houses (and there were several) that gave out Better Made potato chips. As a kid, I did not care for plain potato chips at all, and they took up a ton of bag space. I mean, there's only so much room in a queen-sized pillow case, and a bag of chips displaces ~10 candy bars -- it's no contest!

Buttered popcorn flavored Jelly Bellys.

I know that's hardly a typical Halloween candy, but we're talking about eclectic tastes so I wanted to throw that out there.

Left and right Twix laugh as they blitz and collapse the pocket, sacking your other candies in a devastating heap, golf carted out of the pillowcase.

Surprised Kirk Ferentz didn't say his favorite was a 3 Musketeer. Probably the most blah and boring candy bar out there and figured it would be right up his alley

Anyone say Dots? They are the last candy standing in my son's school 'trunk or treat' bag.

***Candy corn is the undisputed #1.***

Also, coconut shreds, or whatever they are, should never make their way inside anything candy related.

I don't really give a shit about candy or chocolate—I still have a bag of uneaten Nestle Crunches on my desk that are from 2021 Halloween.

But if I have to eat some:

Favorite #1: Payday (regular, not coated in chocolate)

Favorite #2: Baby Ruth

Favorite #3: Skor
