May the simbelmyne grow plentifully on your mound Theoden.
is this a sexual reference?
Guess you didn't read / watch LOTR.
He was also the Captain in Titanic.
RIP!!!
Dude just casually nailing the most badass lines in the movies. The behind the scenes documentary made it seem like he was a great guy too.
In fact, it seems like everyone on set was a great person just happy to be there
ALL HAIL THE GLORIOUS DEAD!!
So it's true! King Theoden did die on the Pelennor fields!
"Out of doubt, out of dark, to the day's rising he rode singing in the sun, sword unsheathing. Hope he rekindled, and in hope ended; over death, over dread, over doom lifted, out of loss out of life, unto long glory"
RIP Bernard, a truer King Theoden does not exist.
Lord of the Rings geeks making Star Wars and Trekkies look like they could win the Joe Moore award.
Sheesh Triumph is just pure gold
Well fuck.
Muster the Rohirrim!
Forth Eorlingas!
Which game of Thrones did he play in?
And of course, RIP.
Saw all three LOTR movies while a student in Ann Arbor. All of them Midnight premieres at the Michigan Theater. Nothing has topped those viewing experiences of the series' movies since. RIP Bernard Hill.
RIP Bernard.
All hail the King!
Loved the scene before the charge where Theoden rides down the length of his line, holding his sword aloft and clanging the spears of his soldiers - basically giving them a metal high-five. Forth Eorlingas!
RIP, Theoden King.
Been a minute since I watched the commentary tracks of the DVD (extended edition, natch), but IIRC Hill did not particularly enjoy knocking all those spears while holding his sword up on horseback because it wasn't fun for his elbow joint.
RIP, Mr. Hill. A grim morn, and a glad day, and a golden sunset.
He chewed up the scene whereby Gandalf bonked him with his staff and chased that no good Saruman out of his brainola. And, I thought he went down with the Titanic...
Pretty much every single best line in the LoTR films was delivered by Bernard Hill as Theoden. Every couple months I go watch my favorite scenes from the trilogy on yt and they almost all involve him.
"Duty? No. I would have you smile again, not grieve for those whose time has come. You shall live to see these days renewed. No more despair."
A SWORD DAY!! A RED DAY!!
Even though he was a supporting role in an all-around excellent cast, he absolutely commanded the screen during his scenes. If I ever die because an elephant knocked my warhorse on top of my sternum, I can only hope to do it with 1/1000th of the gravitas he showed. As the kids say, Bernard Hill understood the assignment.
RIP
The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!
