The Orlando (Michigan) Magic Game 7
I haven't watched too much NBA playoffs this year. No team really captured me. Then I happened to catch the Orlando Magic in Game 4 against Cleveland and saw both Mo and Franz go off to even the series:

The Magic are one of the youngest teams, lead by two Wagner's out of the University of Michigan (with 4 total Wolverines on the roster). Mo is one of my all time favorite Michigan players in any sport. Check out his highlight dunk above. But Franz is an all star caliber player already at 22 years old. He reminds me of Tatum with his 6' 10'' size and can finish at the rim. We will be watching him for a long time.
Game 7's are always great.
Go Blue
Side note: Anyone know the German word for virgin?
Gosen-Tiiiiiight!!!
Great post...except that side note was a bit weird, kid.
Anyway, the Michigan - Magic connection is sweet, but I'm a Knick fan for life. Say go New York, go New York, go!
There are 5 Wolverines apart of this game: the Wagner bros, Caleb Houston, and Jett Howard for the Magic, and Levert for the Cavs.
To be fair, a few of those dudes won’t play any part of this game.
Yes, I'm amazed that the Magic spent first round draft choices on Caleb Houstan and Jett Howard, a couple of guys who can't make the rotation. Neither was particularly good in their solitary years at Michigan. The Wagners and Caris are good, these other two can't make it to the floor.
P.S. Does anyone know what percentage of first round draft picks make a team's rotation?
I don't think either the Mavs or Magic will make it through their respective brick walls (the Nuggets/Wolves/Thunder and Celtics, respectively), but it would be funny to see Mo flex on Luka again:
Orlando getting crushed in 2nd half
Oralndo went cold, esp from 3.
Wow, Orlando’s offensive sets were brutal the last 2/3rds of the game. Franz will have to burn the game tape of this one
Ant vs. Joker was pretty compelling basketball last night.
Best two players in the league.
They're both unreal.
1-15, tough afternoon
Unfortunately Franz had his John Starks moment which ultimately sunk the Magic's ship. But he's just 22 years old. He'll only get better. Orland's future is bright.
Good game by Lavert!
Unfortunately a very similar performance by Franz today as his last game against UCLA. I’ll never get over that horrific game.
That airball 3 still haunts my dreams.
Franz reminds you of Tatum?
Tatum can shoot from anywhere, Franz has always had an inconsistent shot.
Tatum 2" shorter and plays like a SG. Franz plays like a slashing SF.
Tatum modeled his game after Kobe (who modeled his game after Jordan).
Franz plays more like Pippen. Long defender, not a great shooter, attacks the basket, not afraid to mix it up, can guard in the post and on the perimeter.
