6ft 190lb 3* safety out of Florida. Has had his 247 rating jump from 81 to 86 in the last couple of months, so looks like he is rising quickly.

Notable offers include Oregon and Pittsburgh.

This is a real good pickup.  Not one of those head scratching 3* pickups.  This kid will end 4* and is legit.  Great job of Michigan swooping in right before the blow-up.

I don’t think this is a particularly fair take on Don Brown. Many of the New England kids he brought in or had a hand in persuading have had solid careers in spite of their rankings. Meanwhile, more than a few of our ‘can’t miss’ guys that the star-gazers loved on signing day turned out to be busts.

Yes, the defense turtled in big games. But the offense turtled in most games, including the big ones over the past three years. Brown’s defenses were top 5 most years. That’s about all you can ask for. If a program is relying on defense to win games then it has problems—-unless it is Iowa and in the Big Ten West.

I get the hurry to post - MGoBlog is death on slow posters of new news!  But 'Booted Blue' did you the favor of all the relevant data.  I knew Damani was a DB recruit in the 3-starz range, and was trending up, but if the first reply didn't say so you'd be in for hurt.

“And the academics. The business they got the No. 1 business school and I want to study business."

It's cool to see this excitement for the university with incoming recruits. Hopefully he's encouraged to apply and work to see if it's a good fit.

I'll take this one step further and say it's cool to see believable excitement for the university. Excited for Michigan's business school? Awesome! Da'Shawn Hand excited for the engineering school at...Bama? Umm what?

“I fit well with blitzing, covering, me going to corner, safety and the nickel position. It’s a good fit. It’s a hybrid defense for a hybrid player. Anyone can play anything.”

I suppose that answers the, “can he play DT?” question asked of all incoming recruits. Maybe the nicest thing about the 6-0 start to the season is that we’re not asking that question anymore.

Real position of need. If Oregon offered him two days after seeing him in camp, then I don't care about his star rating. Nice to take one from Narduzzi as well.
