I see from the beginning of the schedule that Ohio is also going back to playing "those teams that barely survive in D1 football but still almost  beat us every year and yet somehow don't damage our SOS enough to keep us out of BCS games."

"school up north" refers to MSU, not Michigan.  Thanks to Dantonio, they have become a national power. I mean didn't you know, that for the 3rd straight year... they have picked up the top player in the State?  Ohio knows were the threat comes from, and it's not Michigan.

Does this add to the Hokelore? The best Urban could come up with is copying something Brady already did? Reminds me of that stupid script ohio tradition they couldn't come up with on their own.

Eight games at home, and the four on the road are all winnable (two are "sure-things"). Not in Urban's wildest dreams could he have come up with a more favorable rookie season as TSIO's head grifter swindler cheat tattoo booster coach.

You guys realize it's almost exactly like our schedule this past year?

Warmup game against .500 level MAC school: Western for us, Miami for them
Then there's games against middling BCS level teams: ND for us, Cal for them
2 games against .500 level teams again: SDSU and EMU for us, UCF and UAB for them

Then Conference play starts and the first road game is MSU, plus Nebraska at home. We both play Purdue at home, plus a disaster Big Ten game (Minny and IU respectively). We both play Illinois, they have Wisconsin over Iowa, and next year's Penn State will probably be worse than NW was last year

Urban is going to find out how fickel TSIO's fan base is, regardless of whether he "gets" the rivalry. If I were him, I'd keep the rooms in his new house painted in neutral colors so he can get it on the market quickly when the time comes.

Bringing back Woody Hayes to Ohio tradition is awesome.  Woody Hayes is the Anti-Bo.  Just because the douche nozzles from Ohio don't understand why the tradition is great doesn't mean we can't have respectful disdain for them.  They hate us and we love the tradition of them hating us.  Do you think Woody would have put up with getting caught cheating?  The answer is no.  He would have found the source of the leak and punched them right in the mouth.  "That team up north" and "because I couldn't go for three" is the antithesis of Michigan’s  " The Team, The Team, The Team" and "Those who stay will be champions".

Absolutely.  And I think in a way that is okay.  As long as the coach is professional and he does his job well, then fine.  But it's funny to see the fans who worship him like he's the next Woody Hayes.  Plus, with no emotional attachment or loyalty to the program... bad things can possibly happen.  Possibly

Every new coach has to come in and pander to his fan base. I think it is an almost pitiful attempt to replicate what Tressel did when he moved his travelling salvation show from Youngstown. Hoke's version of pandering was to query the assembled media, then look at them with disdain and announce "this  is Michigan, fergodsakes".

Call me old-fashioned, but drop the stupid nicknames for the schools and call them what they are. Ohio State. Michigan. The whole Ohio, scUM, whatever moniker of the day is really really tacky and juvenile, IMO. Respect your enemy. Beat them on the fucking field, not in some HAR HAR bEaT tHe $uckeye$ war of unintelligible babytalk. From the outside, scUM, TSUN and Ohio just seems really stupid .

Again, just my opinion. Anyone else feel that way?

eh, State's fine. But the point behind Ohio is to belittle/compare to the Ohio Bobcats, etc. It's just kinda useless, IMO. $uckeye$ was an extreme example. Doesn't detract from my original statement and point. Call your opponent what they are... Michigan/UM. . . Ohio State/OSU
