Urban Hates Us 2: The Rivalry Reignited
The schedule says it all. I for one am happy about this as it shows the best part of a true rivalry is a healthy distain for eachother!! I see this as alot of back and forth for the next 8-10 years or so . . . or as long as Urban lasts.

Hilariously the photo in OP's post is cited as coming from here in the first place.

I think this was already posted pre-NSD

Did it

I see from the beginning of the schedule that Ohio is also going back to playing "those teams that barely survive in D1 football but still almost beat us every year and yet somehow don't damage our SOS enough to keep us out of BCS games."
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:04 PM ^
Congrats on scheduling Alabama this year, let me know how well that works out for you. Probably similar to how scheduling USC was for OSU.
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:19 PM ^
Just like they don't like 'Ohio' I don't like that 'school up north'.
Think they will react to my being offended?
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:46 PM ^
"school up north" refers to MSU, not Michigan. Thanks to Dantonio, they have become a national power. I mean didn't you know, that for the 3rd straight year... they have picked up the top player in the State? Ohio knows were the threat comes from, and it's not Michigan.
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:45 PM ^
...offended by, "That team up north?" Maybe we should change, "That," to, "The," herein declaring ourselves, "THE TEAM up north."

blue skies are blue
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
Does this add to the Hokelore? The best Urban could come up with is copying something Brady already did? Reminds me of that stupid script ohio tradition they couldn't come up with on their own.

I think you need a refresher on OSU-UM history. Do you remember Woody Hayes?
February 2nd, 2012 at 6:29 PM ^
Maybe a punch to the throat would refresh his memory.
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
cHoke and flinstHoke? Wow, these people are reallly desperate
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
I LOLed at flinstHoke, and not for the reason they intended. That is a pitiful excuse for a snarky nickname.
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
Tell me more...
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:25 PM ^
That was Woody's line. Come up with something original, if you can.
February 2nd, 2012 at 12:27 PM ^
I know its a wrong thread but I saw that michigan is trying to get another o lineman and suggested dan gibbs? any info?

It seems like a compliment to us and put-down to sparty and all other teams north of Ohio. I like this title for us.

In three years max (citing family or medical reasons again). Mark it down.

Wow tough schedule there
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:09 PM ^
Eight games at home, and the four on the road are all winnable (two are "sure-things"). Not in Urban's wildest dreams could he have come up with a more favorable rookie season as TSIO's head grifter swindler cheat tattoo booster coach.
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:46 PM ^
You guys realize it's almost exactly like our schedule this past year?
Warmup game against .500 level MAC school: Western for us, Miami for them
Then there's games against middling BCS level teams: ND for us, Cal for them
2 games against .500 level teams again: SDSU and EMU for us, UCF and UAB for them
Then Conference play starts and the first road game is MSU, plus Nebraska at home. We both play Purdue at home, plus a disaster Big Ten game (Minny and IU respectively). We both play Illinois, they have Wisconsin over Iowa, and next year's Penn State will probably be worse than NW was last year
February 2nd, 2012 at 3:18 PM ^
However, the Mandels and Fordes of the world will be fawning over the first year record of Urban the Great without really considering too carefully how that record came to be. Book it.
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:02 PM ^
Urban is going to find out how fickel TSIO's fan base is, regardless of whether he "gets" the rivalry. If I were him, I'd keep the rooms in his new house painted in neutral colors so he can get it on the market quickly when the time comes.
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:04 PM ^
Could they get any more home games? At least we know that schedule is set in stone. They won't be playing anybody after November 24th!!!
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:08 PM ^
how original of them

Bringing back Woody Hayes to Ohio tradition is awesome. Woody Hayes is the Anti-Bo. Just because the douche nozzles from Ohio don't understand why the tradition is great doesn't mean we can't have respectful disdain for them. They hate us and we love the tradition of them hating us. Do you think Woody would have put up with getting caught cheating? The answer is no. He would have found the source of the leak and punched them right in the mouth. "That team up north" and "because I couldn't go for three" is the antithesis of Michigan’s " The Team, The Team, The Team" and "Those who stay will be champions".
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:56 PM ^
For some reason I have a feeling that deep down Urban Meyer is impartial, and that Ohia is just his employer and nothing more.
February 2nd, 2012 at 2:11 PM ^
The man had a clause in his contracts that would free him from them if the HC positions at ND, OSU, or guess who opened up. They may be damned good coaches, but he and Saban are mercenaries; nothing more, nothing less.
February 2nd, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
Absolutely. And I think in a way that is okay. As long as the coach is professional and he does his job well, then fine. But it's funny to see the fans who worship him like he's the next Woody Hayes. Plus, with no emotional attachment or loyalty to the program... bad things can possibly happen. Possibly
February 2nd, 2012 at 1:58 PM ^
I have "distain" for this whole string. Really, the ohio guy doesn't like us? Suck on THAT, Woodward/Bernstein!!
February 2nd, 2012 at 2:32 PM ^
I will use F7 for spell check next time if it pleases your highness.
February 2nd, 2012 at 2:59 PM ^
I'm confused. Why is aratman answering as if he was the OP?
February 2nd, 2012 at 2:11 PM ^
Every new coach has to come in and pander to his fan base. I think it is an almost pitiful attempt to replicate what Tressel did when he moved his travelling salvation show from Youngstown. Hoke's version of pandering was to query the assembled media, then look at them with disdain and announce "this is Michigan, fergodsakes".
February 2nd, 2012 at 4:56 PM ^
Call me old-fashioned, but drop the stupid nicknames for the schools and call them what they are. Ohio State. Michigan. The whole Ohio, scUM, whatever moniker of the day is really really tacky and juvenile, IMO. Respect your enemy. Beat them on the fucking field, not in some HAR HAR bEaT tHe $uckeye$ war of unintelligible babytalk. From the outside, scUM, TSUN and Ohio just seems really stupid .
Again, just my opinion. Anyone else feel that way?
February 2nd, 2012 at 5:27 PM ^
can you try to equivocate "Ohio" with "$uckeye$"?? Does referring to Michigan State simply as "State" draw similar ire from you?
February 3rd, 2012 at 1:33 PM ^
eh, State's fine. But the point behind Ohio is to belittle/compare to the Ohio Bobcats, etc. It's just kinda useless, IMO. $uckeye$ was an extreme example. Doesn't detract from my original statement and point. Call your opponent what they are... Michigan/UM. . . Ohio State/OSU
