University of Michigan twilight zone

Submitted by Bighousemike84 on
Something is happening in the universe and I dont like it one bit. For two years straight I find myself on the outside looking in at the bowl season. Basketball comes along to offer me hope for a successful team that is enjoyable to watch, yeah so much for that. Even hockey, a Red Berenson coached team that is now 7-8 overall and 3-6 in the CCHA with 2 losses to Miami(Ohio), Michigan State and a loss to both Bowling Green and now Ohio State on home ice! I just dont understand what is going on, every team worth watching has suddenly become terrible to mediocre. I really do feel like I am in some weird twilight zone because I am just not used to Michigan being so bad across the board.

Suck it up. "When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing. -- Bo Schembechler "

I agree, this year has been painful. One disappointment after another since the ND football game. I keep hoping we've hit rock bottom. Its especially crappy when you have season tickets to all three teams.

At least nobody has been stupid enough to make any "FIRE RED BERERNSEN- this is UNACCEPTABLE" posts. I haen't written off either team yet. I'm of the "one game at at time" ilk. You focus on this game. Then, when it's over, you focus on the next game. Sometimes, in what seems like the proverbial "twinkling of an eye," you look up realize you have ripped off ten victories in a row. That's why we watch sports; the outcomes aren't etched in stone. It would be boring if they were. That's why many fans bitch when UM plays another version of Baby Seal U: nobody wants a guaranteed win because it isn't "exciting" enough or it isn't "competitive." For me, the last two years have been agonizing while the games are happening, but immediately after, I throw them in my "stuff happens" file. Your mileage may vary.

no, theyve just succeeded in teaching me what is a good post and what is a bad post. something stupid like this, good. something relevant like conelius jones position, very very bad.

I obviously am not obsessed with acquiring "meaningless mgopoints", but I happen to agree with every poster who has ripped into you in the past two days. They are not trying to acquire mgopoints, but merely pointing out how absurd many of your positions are. If you joined here to discuss Michigan athletics, than you are going about it the wrong way (picking fights with and mocking the entire mgocommunity). If however you are here to try and piss everyone off, congratulations you have accomplished that. But if this is the case, I do not understand the outrage you show at being disagreed with. You are an enigma wrapped in a riddle my friend. (I apologize for any spelling or grammatical errors)

Wow, I was just venting a little after a terrible loss to Ohio State and suddenly I am a fair weather fan that doesnt believe in Michigan?! Ok then. Yes you are correct the hockey game was not on home ice, still that doesnt change the fact that they played UOS and should never have lost. Anyway I am just disappointed and was looking to vent a little thats all

I think it's time to throw patience out the window. At least that's what I've decided to do. Basketball - get your head out of your ass and start playing some damn ball. I don't care what the fuck your problem is, but get it fixed. Watching the NC/Kentucky game today I thought "Michigan would be absolutely killed by either of these teams". Not fun. Football - this past season you were like that stripper who you thought you could fuck, only she took all of your money and you had to jerk it when you got home. I'll give you two more years, if only because I still believe in RR and thought the Lloyd era was getting quite stale (face it, it was)
