These weeks don't come around often

This article really hit home.  I grew up in Ann Arbor, and went to my first basketball banquet (then called the "Bust") in 1977 as a 9 year old.  This was a year after they made the finals against Indiana, and my 4' 10" self bounced around getting autographs from Phil Hubbard, Ricky Green etc.

The fact is that success in college sports comes, and goes, in spurts.  I was senior at Michigan when we won it all in 1989, and hope that the current students appreciate this run no matter where it ends up like we did then.  Anyway, this article by a current student in the Daily sums it all with more clarity than my blathering above;

Drink on Wednesday so you can take in Thursday’s tension without feeling the pull of Skeeps. It’s unorthodox, but trust me: It’ll pay off.

Sure, it's a pull at Skeeps, but it isn't the person you thought it was before you turned around.

In all seriousness though, even now, nearly 20 years removed from campus and having grown up a Wolverine fan, I love these weeks even if the wait for the game itself is sometimes a terrible thing.

Nice article.
