So when Temberlake graduated,  Bump could not develop another great QB and the team suffered in '65 through '67 They actually had a good year in '68, despite the huge but kicking by OSU that cost him his job. Harbaugh already has had two big but kicking's by OSU and probably would have had a third if COVID did not cancel the game. I hope Harbaugh turns it around, he needs to beat OSU! This video makes me feel old, since I was already 1 year 1 month old when the '64 season started. JFK was my president for the first 4 months of my life. I don't remember the '64 season or JFK.  The first Michigan season I remember was '69, thanks to my first grade teacher who was a big Michigan fan.

Under-appreciated? Not by me, but recency bias is hard to overcome.

As is the temptation to recall past triumphs merely to emphasize recent failures. There are other lessons to draw from that team in 1964, and most of them are positive.
