Tate possibly to San Jose State

he wants to go be a spartan now?
Damn as soon as I saw this thread I was going to be the same response.
Spartans are in San Jose, which is 10000x nicer than East Lansing. Plus he can revive the program after their atrocious one win season last year.
after his trouble in GR... hope he finds some peace somewhere
Tate's #1 priority should be getting a good college degree. Not sure about SJSU's academics but that should be his top priority. I think its safe to say that he's not going to make a living playing football (definitely no offense intended!).
Never enetering a building with a second floor window.
Wow, they went 1-12 last year. Yikes. I'm surprised he hasn't looked at SDSU. There'd be a certain symmetry there.
for a place where there will literally be no pressure on him to perform. After going 1-12 there's no where to go but up.
Is SDSU willing to look at Tate?
Start the Jeff Garcia comparisons in the SF/San Jose press in 3...2...1...
dad still the coach there? If he is, then it could be could for Tate. I remember the beyond the glory for Jeff Garica that it said when he went to play for his dad at San Jose St., his dad taylored the entire offence around his skill set to help him get noticed by scouts and get him drafted.
The Auburn of... San Jose
Tater ganna Tate at San Jose State.
@ Coach Kyle - You should probably never do that again
I liked Tate but he was way too indecisive both on and now off the field.
through some mental struggles right now that are affecting his decision making.
Maybe not too indesicisive as much as too public. I hope things work out for him, and we'll always have ND-09.
He might want to consider going to Montana again, considering Nate Montana got picked up for DUI last night.
MISSOULA - University of Montana quarterback Nathaniel Joseph Montana has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Missoula radio station KGVO-AM reports that Montana was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. Friday morning. He was released from jail after posting $685 bond.
Montana is the son of Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana. Montana in February transferred from Notre Dame to the University of Montana where he is vying for the starting quarterback spot
D'oh! I guess that Notre Dame first-year indoctrination didn't take.
Also considering that Nate Montana was not good at all last year.
Nothing wrong with going back to your hometown university and starting over.
San Jose is in Norcal. Tate is from Socal.
San Jose != San Diego. Live and learn.
I was hoping he would go to SDSU. I'm a fan of symmetry.
What school(s) is Tate going to consider next week?
hasn't considered is the northeast so my best guess would be Boston College or Rutgers.
Why is it always portrayed as . . . Tate is thinking about , Tate is considering , Tate is picking.
Does anybody really Want Him ?
What is the longest he has ever remained at the same academic institution in the last 6 years ?
Its not about football its about Tate considering, thinking about, wondering if he should go to class, do his homework, pass his tests, finish a semester.
Talented QB who needs some structure, He's hit a rough patch in his life and honestly who wouldn't go off the rails a bit. He's a 20 year old kid give him a break.
But doesn't he have a pattern of switching schools as a coping mechanism.
He could have played sooner . . . anywhere. . . by keeping his credits intact.
So why is it always about Tate being 'Courted' rather than Tate complying with requirements ?
SJSU is a pretty bad program and would be willing to overlook problems other schools might be leery of. Personally I think he should try Nevada. He's a decent fit for the pistol and Nevada would welcome a talented QB. Chris Ault has been in business a long time and knows how to change things up to suit the talent on hand.
on "where Tate's heading next" stories.
It's sorta home, but not close enough that his parents can be in his business at the drop of a hat. It's small enough that he can be the "big fish in a small pond.' The competition is a step slower and a few inches less tall than at BCS schools. I hope he does well there. Someone in the family has to be a star somewhere to better leverage the family business; Tate is their last chance.
I think the family business ship has sailed. He's got a couple of years before he's a normal guy and needs to start mentally preparing.
At least he's not changing his mind a lot.
This is all a plan to make Auburn want him more. Amirite?
