The new spot we've been recording the Sunday podcast is 4M, Prentice Partners' new flagship property at 830 Henry St. in lower Burns Park (and one bridge from the Big House). They're also taking over Lucky's Market and turning it into "Venue." They would like to get input from our readership to help them shape their plans for that space.

So Venue is literally a venue for events?

It’s a flex space - co-working space with a special emphasis on digital technology, XR production and events. It will also have large kitchen (think 5+ restaurant lines) for onsite, take out/delivery and a bar. On-site events are a big part of the space plan and design.

If Lucky’s was so beloved, why did it close? Why not replace it with another market?
The proposed grab bag of usages doesn’t sound like something that’s going to draw consistent daily traffic. Who are the “5 regional chefs” cooking for?

Having somewhat of an insider's view on the whole thing, as far as replacing Lucky's with another market, there has to be a market that wants to be there... as far as I know, no market stepped up to take on the space.
Regarding the planned use, that will be a function of business expertise. Having a look and feel that is more compelling than a "grab bag of usages" will be a matter of execution...time will tell!
