So he (Day) phoned Jim Harbaugh.

“Like any time when you’re hiring somebody, you want to call their boss and talk to them and, obviously, get their permission before you address them,” Day said on National Signing Day. “So I went ahead and did that. Didn’t really know Coach up until that conversation with him.”

Something just feels off... I may be reaching but I feel like they were definitely optimistic about landing in ohio before "The Game"... They may have not had an official offer per se but that D looked horrendous the next two games as if something big had changed... And damn that pullover is hideous... Looks like bloody puss imo...

Were Ohio State and Florida really that much better than PSU and ND? We’ve got a lot of revisionist history with regards to our defense after those last two games, like OSU and Florida were unstoppable juggernauts and every other team just sucked leading up to them. Haskins was definitely better than other QBs we faced, but OSU scored, what, 8 touchdowns more than what we were allowing? I don’t buy that OSU was 40 points better than any team we played last year

Crossing routes are great against cover 1 man (what we run most of the time). Would've liked to see Don mix in some cover 3 or 2 to keep them off balance. Can't let someone beat you like that with a single concept. I think Campanile was brought in to help teach zone concepts to address this issue.

Yep. An extra guy back there to help teach. His familiarity with Brown's system and track record of success teaching DBs make him a great hire.

I believe Don Brown knows his stuff, but getting the players to understand it all is the trick. If they want to mix in more coverages to break tendencies in a game, maximizing practice time so players can do it well, is important.

The secondary is gonna need to step up next year with the loss of some big time players up front.

Just cause he made a phone call doesnt make it right.

"Hey Charlie this is Ted."

"What's up Ted?"

Well.....I'm sure you've heard I kicked my wife out of the house.  Wasn't real happy with how things were going so I told her to leave."

"So?"

"Well I need a new wife and I've always admired yours so do you mind if I ask her to leave you and move in with me?   Oh.....and your daughter is pretty hot too so I'm planning on asking both of them to leave you and move in with me.  That's not a problem is it?"

Danka.   It seemed so clear to me but I was reading what I was thinking and not what I actually wrote.

I've fixed it.  And when they make film adaptation of my play and I win an Oscar for the screenwriting you can rest assured I'll give a big shout out to Bo Glue for his editing of my magnum opus.

Stop crying, you're too mGrowOld for that shit.

How does it not make it right? This is proper etiquette in the majority of business fields in our country.

...now if you're salty about them LEAVING for a rival, that's an entirely different story.

Being mad at Day for handling this the right way when you could justifiably hate him for being a douche-faced Buckeye is just dumb.

You blaming Day for this is sour grapes.

I'm not getting the "sour grape" vibes from this.  I understood MGrowOld's point to be that a call, by itself is not sufficient evidence that this was done right.  Making a call, would seem to make it much more likely that this was done right, but it is theoretically possible to make a call and still not have done it correctly.  It depends on what was said on the call.

"Just cause he made a phone call doesnt make it right."
