Submitted by Unsalted on

Bill Keating, U of M class of 1966,1963-1965 football teams (# 68 in the 4th row in photo), passed away yesterday in Denver. Bill was the younger brother of UM All-Big Ten player Tom Keating, who passed away in 2012.

After playing two years in the NFL Bill went to law school at the University of Denver, and became a prominent attorney here in Colorado.

At least Bill got to see Harbaugh named as head coach this week, he can tell Tom all about it in heaven.

Thoughts and prayers to the Keating family, Go Blue

From the Denver Post:

Keating was born in Chicago on Nov. 22, 1944, and attended the University of Michigan. After playing defensive tackle for the Denver Broncos and the Miami Dolphins in 1966 and 1967, Bill Keating earned a law degree at the University of Denver and later became the president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He repeatedly was recognized with awards from peers for his professionalism, achievements and ethics. "Bill was one of those people that you say is larger than life," said law partner Christina Habbas, a former Denver district judge. "He was bombastic, generous, kind and giving. What a warm, beautiful soul. It's an unspeakable loss to me."
