Red Berenson Inducted Into Saskatchewan Hockey Hall Of Fame
Congrats Coach!
Thank you, thank you
I gathered from the link that he's in neither the NHL nor the NCAA Halls of Fame. I assume both things exist--is he eligible for both? What are they waiting for? (I'm not a huge hockey guy--does he deserve to be in the NHL HOF?)
Per the information accessible through the link, he's already in one Canadian HOF, not to mention the Michigan Sports HOF and of course our Athletic Hall of Honor. That's probably good enough.

2005: Inducted into Canadian Sports Hall of Fame along with the rest of the 1972 Team Canada roster
I visited the HOF in Toronto many years ago, and didn't make the connection that it was not exclusive to the NHL. Fun, interesting visit though.
Congrats to Red. Well deserved!
Edit: Flamebait, seriously? Did I flame myself for being an idiot 20 years ago when I was a kid?
better be in there, my old michigan teammate. good guy who had a barrel chest like no other and of course we gave him gas about that.
go blue.
I won't ask who you are, but I'm curious. I'm probably the only one here who had season tickets to hockey back in the early '80s. If Canham had cared enough about hockey to actually do a coaching search, those could have been some great teams.
As long as we're inducting former Michigan players into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame, Brad Tippett (from Prince Albert) needs to be there...the most exciting penalty killer I've ever seen at Michigan, and yes, I'm putting him ahead of John Madden.
Congratulations to Red on joining some select company actually in this particular HOF. Looking at last year's inductees, you see names like Sid Abel, Gordie Howe, Glenn Hall and Bryan Trottier, among some other names well-known to the sport. Yet another fine achievement for Coach Berenson in addition to, if I counted right, 11 Frozen Four appearances, two CCHA Coach Of The Year honors, the Spencer Penrose and Lester Patrick awards in addition to numerous honors as a player at Michigan
