OT (sorta): Out of region fans

Submitted by cjpops on
Getting ready to move out of Michigan this summer to Indianapolis. Any advice on what would be the best way to watch UM football there? I'm afraid that BTN will show regional action and I'm not interested in watching IU, PU, or ND unless they play Michigan. Anybody in this situation have some advice on satellite companies or internet feeds? I don't want to miss any games and would prefer the opportunity to TiVo/DVR.

Get a cable/satellite provider that shows all of the other games on overflow channels and doesn't just show a single game. Directv does that for me in New Mexico, but I'm sure there are other options that do that too.

I live in New Orleans and one of our local bars with Direct TV showed every Michigan game last season. Also, this blog generally has a few links to live streams of Michigan games on gamedays.

Yeah, I could have watched every Michigan game where I live on the east coast. A couple local bars have DirecTV (and so does my gym) and would turn one TV to a Michigan game if it wasn't on already. There are a few BTN channels on DirecTV, so they show each game.

Out of curiosity did you know anyone there? I've been to alumni bars in Georgia, NY, Philly and DC. I found it semi-difficult to meet people in NY (my hometown) and in DC, because folks were already in groups. In Georgia though, I knew absolutely no one, but met people and sat at a table of randoms, and had a great time!

I live in Dallas and for the last two years I have seen every game either on ESPN, ABC or the BTN. I have ATT as my server. IN fact the last game that I did nt see was the PSU game where super Mario caught the pass to win the game with no time left! I also have satelite radio so I will never miss a game. GL my friend.

I live in Lafayette, IN (about 1 hour north of Indy) and Comcast is the main provider here. As long as you have digital there is a Big Ten overflow channel. I watched every game the past two years with no problems.

I too have been able to watch all of the games over the past two years - one in Richmond, VA and one in upstate NY. However, I have had more problems watching these games than in previous years. Problems not shouting, problems not murdering my television set, problems explaining to my wife that she's the weird one for not caring enough . . .
