OT-ish? Saw KBA at the Springsteen show tonight.

The woman and I ate at Mike's Pizza Bar in Little Caesars Arena before they opened up the seats.  As we left the restaurant onto the concourse I happened to look to my left and there was KBA getting a group picture with some seasoned spartan fans.  I did not walk over to her because I am a chicken-shit wuss who is terrified of meeting people but if I had I envision me saying something like, "Hey!  Tell that AD of yours that you deserve a fat a raise.  Have a good night and always, go blue!".

Also: first time seeing Springsteen.  He definitely did not disappoint. And this is the second year in a row something like this happened.  I was chicken the last time too.  The woman and I went to St. Louis to a Cardinals game on draft weekend last year.  Our flight back was accompanied by Hassan Haskins.

I don’t think I am alone in saying that “The Woman” deserves some more respect. Unless she is just some random woman.  “Your wife” or “partner” for example are fine. Maybe even “the love of your life”, your “savior”, ….  I think you get the idea.

I don't know the OP, but maybe he could use a little defense here.

First, many couples have pet names as part of their relationship shorthand. So "the woman" could easily be a term of endearment. (Not a terribly inventive one, but hey, who am I to judge?)

Second, it's a whole lot better than some other terms I've heard, such as "the bitch,"  "the ball and chain," or "the reason I drink to excess."

Third, we don't know what she calls him. It could be lovely, or it could be something so harsh that makes "the woman" sound like a kiss from your grandmother.

And finally, getting taken to a Springsteen concert is a great sign of respect, at least to me. The man gives a kick-ass concert.

i ordinarily completely agree, and have railed against just that, many many times.  there are vanishingly few initials used by posters that don't make me want to drink bleach...and yet, i use "KBA," almost every time i post.  that might be because i follow and post about WBB (lol, there i go again) pretty religiously, and it's a pretty common shorthand in her case, so i do lapse into it.  i'd also note - it's not uncommon to hear the "KBA" thing in national coverage of the team.

now that i've exposed my own hypocrisy and thus excused my own behavior, though?  i get your frustration, brother.

Went to NYC in 2012 to see UM play Cornell in hockey and I literally walked into Carl Hagelin. He was a good sport and much better looking than me. We lost 5-1.
