OT: Frozen Four - UMass and Duluth advance to championship
Dodged a big bullet in the Frozen Four tonight.
UMass, after blowing a 3-1 lead in the 3rd, beat Denver in OT 4-3. This is significant because Denver has 8 championships, tied with North Dakota, only 1 behind Michigan (9).
Minnesota Duluth won in the other game 4-1 over Providence. This is the 3rd consecutive year UMD advances to the championship game (lost in 2017 to Denver; beat Notre Dame last season).
UMD is looking for their 3rd title and UMass is looking for numero uno.

Pretty sure one of Brian Burke's friends decided to mess with him. He was on air during 1st intermission of the Flames game on CBC and was touting how Providence won and advanced to the finals. 2nd intermission Ron corrected it for the audience and said how Burke had received a text indicating Providence won. Some next level trolling there by someone.

UMD's first title still grates.

Imagine living here.
I hope I'll get to see Michigan win one someday
You are obviously very young. Hang in there - your eyes will eventually see Michigan win one...
Most undergrads in college does not remember the last one (1998). Most weren't alive for it. I feel old now. I watched the last two championships in my dorm thinking the Frozen Four would be an annual tradition.
Either we are old, or they are young. I am going with them being young!

Sadly not that young! In my 30's and 1998 was well before my fandom started. It's over 20 years ago now...
Go Bulldogs!

I think everyone will agree with me when I say, Go UMass. Thank you
Hope UMass can pick up these first NC. Then I look forward to Cale Makar joint the Avs for game three of their playoff series against Calgary
