OT: Elbow injury ends career of BYU QB Taysom Hill
Taysom Hill, once rumored to be on the Michigan radar as a QB transfer has succumbed to injury and his career ended this past Saturday.
One of the more electric QB's in college football the past several years will unfortunately hang up his cleats after yet another injury:
the elbow injury Hill suffered Saturday night against Utah State means Hill will not play in the team’s bowl game, thus ending his career.
His career has been impressive, to say the least - and I always enjoyed watching him do some of these things:
Overall in his career, Hill finished with 6,929 passing yards, 2,815 rushing yards and 75 total touchdowns (43 passing, 32 rushing). His 9,744 yards of offense is fourth-best in BYU history and his 75 touchdowns ranks No. 5 in program history.
No stranger to season-ending injuries, Hill was nonetheless again impressive this season - but injuries caught up with him once again:
BYU QB Taysom Hill has thrown for 2,323 yards, rushed for 603 yards and combined for 20 TDs this season. (AP Photo/Rick Bowmer) For the fourth time in the past five years, the season of BYU quarterback Taysom Hill has been cut short by injury.
Here's hoping he makes a full recovery - and if he so chooses - perhaps a position switch might help him get a cup of coffee on some NFL team one day.
Best of luck, Mr. Hill.

So while his career at BYU is over, he could play again?? Good to hear.

Poor guy. Never could stay healthy. Always was fun to watch and seemed like a genuinely good guy. Best of luck!
Never forget 11/26/16

Doing God's work, Beeks. Keep going. Never forget.

I was the opposite - did not want him to come to A2 at all. Although he remained relatively healthy for once, he did not have a very good year. Best of luck to whatever he chooses to do next

to his 2015 season, or his 2016?
2016: BYU QB Taysom Hill has thrown for 2,323 yards, rushed for 603 yards and combined for 20 TDs this season.
2015: he barely played since he got hurt.
2016 seems like a pretty good season to me.

True - but lowest QBR of any of his seasons. Lots of bad decisions. 12 passing td - 11 int. Rushed too often when he has obviously lost a step from where he was before. I live in Provo and the fanbase was begging for Tanner Magnum all year

Sorry to hear it. Just goes to show you how hard it is to play football at a top level well into your 40s.

Lool. He's 26, but still funny.

It was amazing Perry Ellis stayed healthy for so long at Kansas. His grandchildren were being recruited throughout his senior year.

When will we accpet that Lavert is actually Delano's son ? It's obvious Lano is like 60.

Thus ends the collegiate career of the current holder of the Brooks Bollinger Memorial Award for the Player Who It Feels Like Has Been In College for 10 Freakin' Years. I wonder who replaces him?

Unfortunately, it's going to be JT Barrett.

oh god, this is the right answer isn't it.

So different, wouldn't be surprised if Lavell Edwards started the recruiting campaign for him.

He's been around for so long that he was originally a commit to Harbaugh at Stanford. Goodness...

He was fun to watch the rare times he was healthy.
November 29th, 2016 at 3:21 PM ^
That's too bad - he really was fun to watch when we was healthy, but of course, sadly it seemed to be a rare occasion when he was in fact healthy.
Best of luck to him. It would be interesting to see him play a down or two in the NFL, although that doesn't seem quite so likely at the moment.

We would probably be undefeated if he was at Michigan.

Mr. Glass with JOK behind him = all wins. Good logic. I like the kid's moxie and determination, but cumong man!

Fair enough - should have added the caveat that he would have to be healthy as well.

Dude can't catch a break. I wish him much success in whatever venture he does outside of football. With this much adversity, somethign tells me he'll be an all-star in whatever he chooses to call a profession.

This sucks for him--really talented player but always dealing with major injuries.

His career was still going? He's on his 7th or so year and 5th or so leg. Poor guy, he was awesome until after his 2nd or 3rd injury.
