OT: Cam Newton Hospitalized After Car Crash

Submitted by Sports on

Cam Newton was hospitalized after a serious two car crash. Photos have him being stretchered off the scene. His car overturned. The link has a vine of the tow truck righting it. Looks like the roof is partially caved in. Hopefully he's alright.

Crazy how he's able to appear so cheerful/upbeat, despite being in pain and likely having football related concerns. But at the same time, sadly, I wouldn't be shocked if some asshole photographer were being all like 'hey Cam smile for a picture!'

in Charlotte and is expected to remain overnight for treatment after rolling his pickup truck in an accident at a busy downtown interpass intersection shortly before 1 p.m. today.

There is no immediate report on the extent of the injuries he may have suffered and this information was made available via the Charlotte Observer.com web site. The team web site is still not offering any details on Cam's condition or injuries.

gotta love the rationale

"The U-M football program has fallen on hard times. Perhaps this is a good time to join Northwestern, Michigan State, Notre Dame and dozens of other universities that broke tradition and hired a black head football coach."

Cam's vehicle rolled over three times according to an eyewitness. From the pictures that I have seen and all credible reports, he is doing ok. He obviously was wearing his seat belt. Seat belts save lives! Please wear yours

the Charlotte Observer dot com web site. Apparently Newton rolled his truck four times near a busy downtown highway intersection shortly before 1 p.m.  and was reportedly taken in a strecter to a nearby trauma center at unidetified local faciliites not far from the crash site. He could have been transported to at least two different medical facilities. The official team web site has no information on his condition. And neither does the newspaper site other than photos taken at the scene.
