He'll be at OSU or ND soon enough. Or Clemson, after Saban retires and Dabo takes over for him.

Four years ago I would have agreed with you on Dabo, I just don’t see that happening now. That’s his program.

I get that Dabo played at Alabama, but him leaving Clemson would be bad for college football. You can go to new places, but once you've built something you've got to keep it going. I like that Jeff Brohm stayed at Purdue to try to keep building something. Saban has been almost unstoppable at Alabama, but going from MSU to LSU and then to Bama after the NFL makes him a douche*. Urban Meyer going to OSU after Florida is douchey. Meyer going to his next college gig will be even more douchey.
*forgive my lack of good words to describe this phenomenon.

Calling Saban and Meyer douches seem pretty accurate to me.

Yea, but coaches leave all the time .... hard to turn down your alma mater. Especially if there is no "building up" of the program. Win titles at 2 schools, one of which is your alma mater, and you're no longer just a great coach, you're an all-time great coach.

Taking a look at the website the Teams dont have mascots or nicknames....just Dallas, Houston, New York and so on for the 8 teams, hmm

You have any content to post with this OP statement? If not, it won't be nice and easy for you. Someone will take your job.

I heard that this AM. I was definitely "huh???"
FWIW, the "other football league" (the AAF) starts this weekend. The AAF has 8 teams. The youngest coach in that league is 57 years old. The coaches there include 5 former NFL coaches - the likes of Mike Singletary, Dennis Erickson, Mike Martz, Mike Riley and Steve Spurrier (!?!?!?). Also Slick Rick Neuheisel.
So, I guess Stoops is a bit like them. An older guy who has coached at very high levels, and views this league as a way to return to the sideline.
The difference --- the big difference --- is that Stoops surely has many more options that most of those guys.

If you love coaching these have to be very easy gigs. No recruiting, no real pressure, short seasons, not much to do in the off season. Retirement isn't for everybody. Compared to their previous jobs this is pretty close.

Good point. It keeps him engaged in the game but at about 1% of the stress level.

Looks like there are a number of former wolverines in the league. Mostly running backs...
- Atlanta Legends: RB Denard Robinson
- Birmingham Iron: RB Ty Isaac
- Memphis Express: DB Channing Stribling
- Orlando Apollos: RB De’Veon Smith
- San Antonio Commanders: DL Matt Godin

Bob Stoops is in the XFL tonwork on his “new offense” watch and see as he tinkers and gets the kinks out before heading to USC and starting another juggernaut, pisses me off but it’s gonna happen.
