New #82?
The latest UMichFootball video on twitter shows a mysterious new player wearing #82.
Probably Eubanks? The clip shows two other TEs (Wheatley, McKeon) after him.
Also, that throw by Peters, and McKeon sprinting past an outstretched Khaleke Hudson at the end is pretty impressive.

Chad Ocho-doso?

I'm no expert, but shouldn't it have been Chad Ochenta y cinco? Perhaps he wanted to be know as Chad Eight Five, instead of Chad Eightyfive.
This actually comes up when you google 85.
Are my favorite double posts. Please more!

I think responses like these are why you get continously downvoted WD.
By all means, downvote away.
I support the starting QB Wilton Speight.
You're missing the point. It's not your opinion that's the problem, it's the snarky way you said it.
I've seen WD get downvoted many times after making very legimate, useful, and informative posts with zero snark. There are just a group of WD haters on this site that neg him for the heck of it.
I support him too. And I'll support him when he is a backup as well.

I hope he wins the strating role -- has NFL arm strength and touch. That's something Speight is incapable of given his funky throwing motion.

The team will be better in October and November with the QB who has command of the offense, ability to read defenses, and lead the team. If that's Peters so be it, but you don't need to be a top NFL draft pick to win big in college football.

With such a young 2 deep, it probably will take a 'future NFL draft level performance' from whoever starts as QB to win big.
A QB that is a real weapon, and not just a (mostly) reliable part of a larger machine, would probably make M a contender in '17. Can Speight be that guy?
In other words, can Speight be a good as Sam Darnold was for USC last year? Maybe he can, but it would take a big improvement over his '16 performance (which overall was pretty good but not anywhere near Heisman candidate level).
The very limited data that is out there on Peters (spring game, chatter) suggests that he might have the potential to be as good as Darnold.
Or he could end up like Josh Rosen in his first year as a starter. Flashes of brilliance sprinkled with lots of mental mistakes and bad decisions.
JH and staff will make the right choice.

well i certainly hope so bc darnold could be the 1st pick in the draft
USC did not look great in the first three games. Then Darnold took over and they never lost again. Darnold had excellent numbers. Really good TD/INT ratio. He was the difference.
Speight (or Peters) will have to play at a much higher level than last year. Lots of talent on the roster, but with so much youth.
M will make the playoffs only if the QB position is able to play at a level that basically takes over games against top opponents, like Darnold did last year.
