His eyes as he shook that tackler. They were scary. He looked possessed.

The SID poll is completely worthless now that it doesn't factor into a BCS ranking.
Not that the AP poll means anything, either.

We're not ranked and Oregon is? Cal jumps above us into the poll for eeking out oa win over a mediocre Washington team?
I know I shouldn't be upset by something this wholly unimportant, but I am.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
CAL beat the powerhouse WASHINGTON by 6. They beat Texas only because Texas missing an extra point. I guess 4-0 is better than 3-1.

Unless you're Alabama, Stanford, Wisconsin...

Why in the flying fuck is Oregon still ranked?

September 27th, 2015 at 12:26 PM ^
Probably some ballots were filled out before it was even played. It's not like coaches all take their ballots seriously.
September 27th, 2015 at 1:01 PM ^
Well that would explain things, wouldn't it? Why do they even bother with the coaches poll anyway?
September 27th, 2015 at 12:51 PM ^
the pre season rankings baby. If anybody has watched college football this year and can actually back up voting OSU and MSU 1 and 2 with sound reasoning and statistics I think I could sell them ocean front property in Nebraska.
September 27th, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
Yeah, as noted below, that game was winding down late. I'm guessing nobody figured Oregon would get pantsed by 40 at home, so they just ranked them where they were at the start of the day.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:15 PM ^
Let them play with the anger that they are not getting any respect.

There is probably no small amount of Harbaugh backlash, especially from the SEC and ACC.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:16 PM ^
This team is emulating Harbaugh's approach to football. Harbaugh does not care about rankings, only winning the next game. Therefore the players are focused on Maryland. Hoke's teams were (mostly) great at home but awful on the road. I'm sure the players haven't forgotten that.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:17 PM ^
OK, if that's the way they want to play it.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:17 PM ^
Why coaches even have a poll. If you still rank Oregon, you don't deserve to do a poll.
I think I know why. Coaches hate Mormons.
I wish they would have ranked all the 25 teams #1.

Getting no love - I like it. Let's keep under the radar as long as possible.
In reality, our only loss is to the #12 team by one TD away (and we spotted them 3 picks).
I think we could beat most of the 17-24 teams at home or neutral site.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:20 PM ^
I think we can beat all of them 1-24 teams at home or neutral site and most of them on the road.

If you put all 25 teams in a home, and then put that home on the road, we could beat them.

The "Coaches Poll" ....aka, the grad assistant poll
September 27th, 2015 at 12:21 PM ^
Arizona, after a humiliating loss at home against UCLA, still received almost as many votes as Michigan did.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:25 PM ^
That is a complete lunacy
September 27th, 2015 at 1:53 PM ^
Perhaps it was as someone said that the Oregon game - being a late one - didn't register with a few voters, but having watched it, it would be hard to say that they still should retain a position in this poll right now. On the other hand, BYU did get some "style points" - if you want to call them that - from one voters, it seems.
This is the poll that I never quite get, the Coaches Poll.

Self-fulfilling and circular reasoning much? Oregon should still be ranked as a two-loss team because one of their losses was to an "elite" MSU team...whose sole "elite" win on their resume is...Oregon?

Not to mention that we played Utah on the road while Oregon got humiliated by Utah at home. Ridiculous.
