I'm in Puerto Rico for the bball tipoff and I'm going to be watching the game at Shanna'ns Pub in Guaynabo per our where to watch thread. Just throwing this out for those in the area to come watch. Mention MGoBlog and I'll buy a round!! Drinking and watching alone is no fun! I plan on getting there around noonish.

Puerto Rico the motherland how I miss being there. Guaynabo is the wealthier area of San Juan metro if I remember right. Hit up El Yunque, El Morro, Old San Juan, etc if you have free time!

Yeah I'm hitting up old San Juan Sunday morning/afternoon before the Butler game (my alma mater). Then spending all day hiking in El Yunque on Monday. Really looking forward to the rain forest. :)

Is very beautiful. Was there in July. Make sure you hit up the waterfall and wear good shoes. FYI your phones not going to work very well in the mountain.

You will be buying plenty of rounds, my friend. People in PR like to drink. The PR Alumni group goes to Shannan's for the games so you should have no trouble meeting plenty of Michigan fans there.

You should definitely go to La Plazita de Santurce (like... now). People go there after work on Friday and it only gets better as the night goes on. Tons of bars and restaurants. Jose Enrique, Santaella, and El Pescador are all highly recommended.

Try Medalla. Local beer is cheap and very crisp/refreshing. Also, drink DonQ and not Bacardi...

Word. Go to the supermarket though instead of hotel prices they'll be like 60cents a can. Admittedly though presidente is better than medalla. As someone of pr descent, I have to admit it El Jibarito is a good old San Juan restaurant. Traditional food, cheap. La factoria is a good cocktail bar too. Several rooms to explore.
