Men's Lacrosse @ #5 Rutgers, 12PM

Men's lacrosse travels to New Jersey today to take on the #5 ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The game is at 12 PM and will be streamed on BTN+.

Rutgers is 2-0 with solid wins over Hopkins and Ohio State. They have a potent scoring attack led by veteran seniors Adam Charalambrides and Kieran Mullins. While a #5 ranking seems a little bit lofty for them and it's hard to adequately rate teams this early in the season, they're probably still pretty good. And unfortunately for Michigan, they've really had the Wolverines' number the last few years.

Michigan hasn't gotten off to a great start - they've gotten crushed by Maryland to open the season and lost last week vs. Hopkins. Michigan held a 4-2 lead halfway through the 2nd quarter and then... Hopkins scored 11 of the next 12 goals. Michigan has been doing OK on faceoffs, but they need to do more to generate offense and stop the runs. It's still early in the season and those problems are fixable so they can still turn it around. And they'll get two cracks at each B1G opponent this year. GO BLUE!!!

Rutgers is a really dangerous team.  Not sure our defense will be able to hold them but looks like the offense at least has shown up to start.

This is a completely brutal schedule this year.  We could have a top 20 team and still not win a single game.  I’d like to see them get over the hump though and knock off a top team in conference play.  Would be good to get the confidence that you can hang with anyone going into next year.
