McCray and D. Hill on PFF's Team of the Week
Both Mike McCray (for pass rush and coverage) and Delano Hill (for the INT and coverage) made Pro Football Focus's team of the week for Week 1.
They also have a B10 team of the week, which adds Evans, Chesson, and Gedeon.

imagine that stats that Chesson and Evans can put up with more playing time!

It's going to be hard for anyone to break 1,000 yards receiving. But if Evans can become the guy, I could see him hitting that on the ground.

Is he good at pass protection? I imagine that's what it will take to become the guy.

If healthy I think De'Veon continues to get the starts for the majority of the season. Chris Evans really does seem like a budding star though so I think he will get lots of run. Maybe 700-800yds rushing and 400-500rec?
It was only game one and the rainbow warriors but I haven't seen a back with the shiftiness of Chris since Touchdown Tim?

Obvious caveats aside, that's pretty encouraging.

Especially since the LBs were seen as the single weakest link of the entire team.

A bit surprised, and very happy, about Gedeon. My biggest off-season concern may actually be a strength.

Before the season I was just hoping our linebacking corps would be vaguely servicable. With a couple of servicable ILBs, our defense could be one of the best in the country.
If our LBs actually turn out to be good—like legitimately a strength—Watch the fuck out. This defense can be something truly special.

They went into the season as the "weak unit" on defense, pretty much. It'd be hard to top the DL or secondary, but if they can eclipse either of those position groups, this will likely be one of the greatest defenses we ever see.
Unless the DL gets screwed by injury again. :(

...that media types were hyping prior to the Hawaii game. Can't wait to see this defense travel to East Lansing, Iowa City and Columbus.

but I'm waiting for the defensive UFR to get even remotely excited about McCray and Gedeon

Time to get excited!

A unit of Peppers, Gedeon, and McCray is looking good so far
