We'll see how he does in the long run, but I've really liked him so far.  He seems to have come to appreciate that while academics are first (as they absolutely should be), sports are important at Michigan and part of the overall culture of the school.  Schlissel seems to have a great sense of proportion on this, and the right temperment to guide the school through the next several years.

Money quote?  Money quote:

"Fortunately for me I didn't have to vote for fireworks ... . Personally, I didn't have an opinion to be honest. Having never attended a game there I didn't have a sense of the cultural aspects" Schlissel said of the debate.

Dude came in and picked a prime successor to Brandon without much experience in the Michigan family. 

I think we'll do just fine in the long run with him at the helm.
