If you could only go to one home game this year, which would you choose?

First season living outside of Michigan and I’ll realistically only be able to afford one flight to catch a game.

I’m torn between Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Penn St.

Nebraska: earliest in the season so highest odds team is still in the hunt; warmer weather; lowest stress game in theory so more relaxed viewing experience; and Frost’s first season intrigue.

Wisconsin: great matchup; favorite fan base; primo fall season in Michigan; important match up and revengeish game of sorts.

Penn St: most important game of this lot in theory but late in the season so it may lose its shimmer by gametime; huge revenge game against one of [my] least favorite teams in the conference.

What game would you choose?

We've got a nice little back and forth going with PSU.  I'd probably choose that one, even if we lost one before then.  Nebraska is a good #2 for me.  Also, cold weather makes it feel like a real football game for me.

I am going to say Wisconsin on the sole fact that Penn State plays MSU and OSU before UofM. Therefore they will likely already have a loss or two. Wisconsin's schedule is a cupcake and there only meaningful game against a top tier opponent will be against us until they play Penn State later in their schedule.

It always depends on what you want to enjoy:

1 - for pure football and college football storylines - Penn State.  I'd go to this game with Michigan Football devotees.

2 - for the experience, late in September is a great time to watch a game while still having a significant team as the opponent.  I'd take the family or other guests.

3 - for the best blend of both, Wisconsin.  A B1G West power (the only power) and a mid October game.

I like them all, but Nebraska would be my first choice. It's the Big Ten opener, which is nice. I think Nebraska is going to be pretty good - on offense. That freshman QB is going to be a good player and Frost has some weapons to go with him. Our offense should be rounding into form by then. It's a great matchup. A freshman QB vs an outstanding Don Brown defense. Our new look offense vs a mediocre defense.

You can’t go wrong with any of those three, but my initial reaction is Wiscy. Nebraska shouuuuld be a win, and all the obligatory fuck Scott Frost shit. Penn State, yes a hated opponent for obvious reasons, but later in the season, could be cold, could have the dice not land in our favor in previous games, leading to a less amped game. Wisconsin is the best fan base of the three opponents, always bring it, making for a competitive game, and could easily be a top 10 matchup early-ish in the season.

Hoping my brother sees this, come on down, Bryan! Any of these tickets have your name on them! Doooooo it.

Wisconsin. Partly because UM has a greater chance of still being unbeaten by then. Partly because PSU turns my stomach and I would spend half the time wondering how in the hell people can stand to associate with their football team.

Well, as someone who lives only 20 minutes from the stadium and has season tickets, it's more a question as to which tickets I probably would not give up if I had to sell the other ones, and that would probably be Penn State this time around.

PSU by a long shot. They are due a beatdown like they gave us last year. Let’s see how little fella Trace does without his star RB and 15’ TE to bail him out.

Wisconsin, because I haven't attended a home game since Northwestern way back in 2004 and the only possibility I could make a game this year would be if we have the cash to take a vacation that week in October and make that part of the trip. I'd give it a 30% chance, but that's a lot higher than the zeroes for every other game on the schedule.

Honestly that wouldn't be my first opponent choice, since I just saw Wisconsin play Michigan in Camp Randall, but a game at the Big House is a game at the Big House.
