He's not the third. That was James Ross, his brother.

Then again, I suppose they could have different dads? James Ross and Josh Ross and both be the first in the family line? Is that what you're telling me? It's on the internet now...so I believe it.

Just was listening to him live with the family and Mr. Webb on WTKA. Great news on a day no so happy elsewhere in the World...thoughts to those in Belgium.

^^why this blog sucks anymore.  can't come here for sports/to get away from the realities of the world without being constantly reminded of other things not related to sports.  this is a Hello thread yet you somehow managed to mention people being killed in belgium.  aren't there a million other sites you could go to to talk about that?  i really hope Brian just cancels OT threads altogether, year round.

I can tell you with some confidence that this will not happen - there is an established start and end to OT season and it is something of a blog tradition. Actually, even those threads drive a fair amount of traffic depending on the discussion. Granted, we sort of let OT season start this time around because of the basketball issues, if you will. It's a sports blog, but it isn't as if this group hasn't been able to intelligently discuss other subjects (religion and politics excepted) and that's the Michigan difference. Also, the events in Belgium are international news and significant - did you really think that would stay off this blog, rife with people who follow the news?

As for the OP's topic, is this the first time we've gotten a commitment during the morning news cycle in a while? I think it has happened before, but it definitely seems uncommon. Welcome to Michigan, Josh Ross!

There used to be an official OT Season. Not anymore, it even became a running joke about the nonsene you left up during the season. THEN, you gave multiple warnings and notices abou8t the end of OT season approachng, then when it came you left even MORE OT posts up on the boards.

If there is an official beginning and end to OT season then enforce it, especially if you consider it a "tradition"

I thought I made this rather clear, as I have each year - the end of OT season is more accurately described as a narrowing of focus of OT posts to a very specific subset. It is not the total prohibition of them. If that was a running joke, it was a joke among those who obviously didn't read the actual warnings and assumed it was a literal end - or those who hate gray areas, which is unfortunate because then life sucks without them. It was definitely all clearly stated in shades of gray as I intended.

The approximate dates tend to be official, but not so much on the end this year. See, by putting up with this (me, other mods, etc...) we learn to cope with uncertainty. It's an exercise. That's what makes it exciting.

Math (at least measuring) seems to be a somewhat imprecise science when it comes to football player heights.  Wasn't James listed at 6 feet during his playing days at Michigan?  So maybe Josh is a couple inches shorter when he gets to his pro day too, which still makes him taller than James.

I considered JRIII a lock from the moment I heard of him. There was no way he was committing anywhere else BUT the Maize and Blue. Hard to get excited this early, but I guess this will be my bolt of energy to start the day!
