ESPN Video: Michigan Football Virtual Reality
Embedded below is Tom VH trying out the Michigan VR app (In case embed doesn't work, here is the link) . It's a free download from the App Store in iOS, although I'm sure there's an Android version as well. The iOS App Store says this has been out since August, but couldn't find anything on the board talking about its release.
I've been on the fence about trying VR technology paired with a phone, but being able to replicate the gameday experience of a player and be in the locker room with Harbaugh may push me towards trying it out.

I downloaded it to my iPhone 6...it seems to work part of the time but also crashes a lot and closes the app down and throws me out to the main screen...anyone else having the same problem? Neat when it works.

That is really cool. I wonder how many sets of videos they have developed? Campus tours, athletics, class rooms etc.

I was actually working this summer for the Ross Academic Center while they were recording some of these and it was pretty cool to see. I talked to one of the guys recording the images inside and he showed me some of the other stuff they've done including a trip down whitewater rapids. They were going through every relevant building this past summer to record everything for this. For the academic center, they were just getting pictures of the place as empty, so we had to move out of the areas that they were shooting in.

I've used this with one of those Google Cardboard headsets. It's really cool.

You don't have to build it yourself. Just do a search for "Google Cardboard." They go for around $20, and work with most phones.

They pretty much do they same as that new Samsung VR headset you put your phone in except its only $20 instead of $100. (cost of materials is the obvious difference in price)

Google Cardboard is pretty awsome technology. I am really interested to see where it heads next. As a teacher, I got the opportunity to experience Google Expeditons, which is virtual field trips for students to take in their classroom.
