ESPN releases 2015 rankings
Looks like ESPN just released their rankings for the class of 2015. In terms of Michigan targets, TomVH has a good article on it. They have Jashon Cornell -- who has some interest in Michigan -- listed as the top player. Other players of note:
#3 WR George Campbell
#17 QB Josh Rosen
#20 RB Damien Harris
#38 CB Minkah Fitzpatrick
#49 CB Shaun Crawford
#51 DE Joshua Alabi
Could be another great year at DB and DE for Michigan.
Whoa, a little early ya say?
I'm guessing the numbers are the overall rankings and not the position rankings. I doubt Alibi is the #51 DE
Yes numbers at overall ranking.
Mike Webber was at like #298
I have not used this word in years but you made me bring it back..."Duh"
I reckon I deserved that one
Don't be hard on yourself, I had to get my barings too. I wondered the same thing. Perhaps that is a sign we follow recruiting too closely...
What is an RN? Damien Harris is listed as one. I did a quick Google search and no results came up to signify what an RN position is in football. Is it a new position ESPN has come up with, like Athlete or something? Maybe I'm just having a brain fart, but I've never seen RN before. Good old ESPN making things up again, I suppose.
Haha, I was about to ask the exact same thing. I tried to run through some made up positions first, just in case there was an obvious one I was missing. Somehow I don't think "rush nose" is a position.
Mike Martin was one of those..
not sure if "/s" lol, it is a typo. Harris is a running back (RB).
I am hoping this is sarcasm, but suspect it's not. Look at what letter is beside the "N" on the keyboard.
(And because I know what the next reply will be, of course I mean "M")
Better than assistant regional manager. Or assistant to the regional manager.
I edited it. Hope you're happy. I also hope the first time you make a typo is memorable. You might want to even get it framed.
Oh, and thanks for being a jackass.
I wasn't being sarcastic, I actually thought RN was a new position ESPN was using. I had a massive brain shart.
I retract my own personal assholery. Thought you were being super sarcastic. Let's internet bro hug it out.
I still love that for Denard.
I'll bet the School of Nursing is holding their breath that we land the #3-ranked RN in the class, Damien Harris.
Does anyone have an idea of how big the 2015 class will be, assuming we take 20 this class?
12-15 as of now, but will likely grow. Due to RR attrition the 11, 12, and 13 classes were pretty big and currently make up about 70 players hence the small 14 and 15 classes.
With the current 2014 class, we are already at the limit. So any additional 2014 guys will be taking scholarships from current players. 2015 will be small. Like 15 max, maybe.
Guess ESPN got tired of being last out of the gate with ratings. Also funny because they always said they were late because they were more thorough than everyone else.
#9 IL DE Terry Beckner Jr
#14 OH DE Hjalte Froholdt
#18 TX RB Soso Jamabo (isn't David Underwood his private coach?)
#28 CA QB Kevin Dillman
#29 OH DB Eric Glover-Williams
#43 CA DB Iman Marshall
#75 PA OT Sterling Jenkins
#91 OH LB Chris Green
#131 OH WR David Dowell
#139 VA LB Ricky DeBerry
#145 OH LB Justin Hilliard
#147 MI DB Brian Cole
Cole looking to be top in-stater for 2015?
Alabi ranked higher (51), but yeah, it's looking like it could be a Alabi/Cole battle for #1 next year, with Weber having an outside shot.
I think Kyonta Stallworth might be my favorite in-state prospect for 2015. I'm not sure what position he'll play because he still has to fill out, but he's a very good athlete for his size. My guess is that he'll be an offensive guard but he's athletic enough to play tackle.
We look to be in good shape for some high profile 2015 targets.
Tim Settle, DT #7 (Hand's teammate)
Terry Beckner Jr., DE #9
Soso Jambo, RB #18
Iman Marshall, CB #43 (Juju's teammate)
Cordell Broadus, WR #54 ( Son of Snoop Dogg(Lion), No Michigan offer)
Sterling Jenkins, OT #79
Brian Cole, ATH(CB) #174
Osa Masina, ATH #168
T.J. Wheatley Jr., TE-Y #217
Jacques Patrick, RB #231
Settle and Hand aren't teammates. Settle goes to Stonewall Jackson and Hand goes to Woodbridge. However, their towns are a few miles apart, so I think they know each other pretty well.
You are right. I assumed they were teammates because they have gone on visits together.
Settle considers Hand a brother and Hand has begun mentoring him this season.
Tim Settle hasn't been offered yet.

He would be the favorite for 2015 name of the year.
Currently this year: Juwan Bushell-Beatty
Previous years:
2013: Taco Charlton
2012: Royce Jenkins-Stone (Our version of Law Firm)
2011: Tony Pasada
2010: Drew Dileo
2009: Fitz Toussaint
2008: Boubacar Cissoko
2007: Zion Babb
2006: Obi Ezeh
2005: MISTER SIMPSON
My personal favorite name in the 2015 class is Equanimeous St. Brown. He's a WR out of Anaheim. No Michigan offer though...yet.
Sounds like he should skip college and just become UN Secretary General already.
