Not credible, so take it with a grain of salt. All signs are seriously pointing to that though(and this report is just hopping on all the rumors and trying to claim it first). I would be very happy with durkin as our dc though, so hopefully it does become official.

Seriously? I have been way too vigilant on the board, and I have seen activity with Durkin turning down jobs, but no claim of him coming, beyond speculation. While the site is questionable, he claims it's happening.

The speculation was he's a former Harbaugh assistant who is purposely not taking jobs he's been offered that most other DCs would have already jumped on. Additionally, someone a few days ago spoke to a relative of Durkin who said he was coming. In other words we all more or less already knew and are just waiting for Michigan to make it official.

Since he is out of a job (they hired Collins as DC) I don't think it is a stretch for this guy to call it but he says "within the week" that means it isn't done (signed) but he is taking a leap for the credibility of calling it first.

Even without referencing the spelling error, that website looks like a generic Microsoft Word document circa year 2000.

Nonetheless, I think this happens and the sooner it does, we can get down to business. Great day all around!

Here's an unrelated bonus as an apology for a crappy source! This is a quote from Shea Patterson, the #1 QB in the 2016 class.

"It's definitely a game changing hire," Patterson said on Monday night. "Michigan has always been a place I thought I would play and having him come in there definitely boosts my interest. I grew up going to Michigan football games and I think it's a great hire obviously. He's going to bring them back to where they've been before. As a quarterback, it excites me too because I like his competitiveness and I know a lot of guys are going to want to play for him. I look forward to the recruiting process with him."

I don't know the source beyond the Victor's Board, so I will post it here.

Durkin would be an excellent hire and if Mattison remains on the staff the defense could be best in the country next year
