Devin Funchess had three catches for 71 yards and a touchdown today, including a big 52 yard catch.

This is his best day yet as a pro (in a win by the 8-0 Carolina Panthers over the Gtreen Bay Packers)

Man, Cam Newton sure does throw off his back foot a lot. I watched the Panthers game last week and he was doing that a lot.

and other Carolina receivers helps ameliorate back foot inaccuracy, and inaccuracy in general. I think that is why he was drafted there. Had he returned to Michigan this year, Funchess would have been another Butts-like target for Rudock. Oh well.

Ugh, I can just imagine how good a Funchess, Darboah, Chesson, Butt, AJ Williams receiving core would look like this year.

Devin made the right decision. Making money, and starting to make big plays in year 1.

He made a good decision, but coming back to play under Harbuagh would have been a good decision as well. One can't really say what path would have been best in the long run.

The one where he makes millions for an extra year is the right decision. When the average career is like 5 or 6 years an extra year of earning is huge. It's like taking away a decade of earnings for you.

So happy for Devin. I met him once and he was really nice to me. Although it would've been awesome to see what Harbaugh could do with him, I feel like his strengths would've been under-used with Jake Rudock not being able to go deep.
