Desmond Morgan Redshirt Possibility
Can he be regularly redshirted since he only played in the first game of the year? Or does he have to be medically redshirted?
At this point his return doesn't have any major influence to the direction of the season since Ryan/Bolden seems to be a good ILB combo. Next year he could be a defensive captain if we have those again. I'd hate for him to lose a season because Hoke's staff/Brandon's Department were so inept they didn't file the right paper work.

If he played even a single snap, it has to be a medical redshirt.

Not unless he has a season ending injury. Of course we don't know the details of his injury, but if it's a broken bone he should be able to return soon.

I don't know if I feel worse for anybody more than I do Morgan. That dude appears to give his all and the coaches appear to be doing everything they can to play someone else.
I wonder if Morgan would WANT to come back for another year.

He will be a great replacement for Ryan or will be real good paired up with Bolden. Our LB next year could be the best LB crew in the BIG.

A medical redshirt is something that's filed for after-the-fact. There is nothing that Hoke or Brandon need to do now to preserve his eligibility for a medical redshirt other than not play him.
