Always great to see that a former Michigan Football player is still involved in the game. For the youngsters who don't recognize the name 'Mallory' , Curt and his older brothers Mike and Doug all played steller defense for Bo back in the 80's. They were to Michigan Football then what the Glasgow brothers are now, tough hard-nosed football players who might not have been the most talented but who made the most of their abilities. Their dad, Bill Mallory, was a former head coach who immediately followed Bo as Miami Ohio HC, then immediately preceded Bill McCartney as Colorado HC, followed by successful stints as HC at Northern Illinois and IU. Congratulations and best wishes, Curt---Bo would be proud.

was that the team ran X number of laps around the field (Stadium), with orange cones to "note" the corners for conditioning.

Mike Mallory, instead of running a route just barely grazing the cone, was a pilot personality that ran the longest possible lap right next to the stands because he didn't want the "bare minimum lap".  He wanted the maximum lap circumference, and it set a precedent with the team which started other players and eventually all players running the same route.

Whether legend or fact his mental and physical toughness were undisputed amongst the elementary school fanbase.
