Current status of highlight (etc.) video unblocking efforts?
Back in February, there was a flurry of discussion on how to stop ZEFR from blocking all our Michigan highlight (and related) videos on YouTube. I did a search of the board but haven't seen anything since then. With the season drawing closer, is it time to revisit that discussion? About half of my ridiculously one-sided parkinggod highlight videos are blocked, and ALL the rest (including my Moving Picture Pages videos) are marked as matching third party content. I'd hate to spend a couple of hours every weekend mixing a highlight reel only to have it blocked once I upload.

A better way to ask your questions would be "How successful has MGoBlog been in singlehandedly changing decades of American copyright law in a few short months?"

I guess you haven't had any complaints filed against you in federal court for videos posted on mgoblog.

I appreciate what you do, but you have to have realized at some point that what you are doing comes with certain risks from copyright owners? I mean, just about every football game broadcast on TV comes with that warning about rebroadcast and retransmission. It's a bummer, but it seems copyright infringement and enforcement is a bit of a cause du jour these days.

I fully realize and accept the risks I have taken and am taking. That said, unless I'm misunderstanding you, your two comments seem inconsistent. Mgoblog hasn't affected copyright law in any way. They post videos that include copyrighted material uploaded by me, parkinggod and many others and take the pageviews and associated revenue. They don't give a shit that when you Google me it's all lawsuits that have ruined my name and made them money. I'm going to keep uploading because I'm already fucked, but I wouldn't advise anyone else to do the same.

Would it be possible to host them some place else where you could still post links to the videos and not have the copyright oversite of YouTube? I know that I put videos for my students on my Google Drive and then share the link...

No. T3Media doesn't monitor your class videos but I'm guessing they are all over mgoblog since they visit my tiny site daily.

There is a torrent of WolverineHistorian's complete highlight collection on MGoVideo.
I mailed the whole collection to akarpo and he uploaded to dropbox. So if anyone wants to see all of them, there it is. Spanning from 1964-2012.
Although the 2011/2012 seasons are very shitty because they aren't WH edited videos. He doesn't do HD, so the only person who had HD highlights of every game was some stooge named DonkeyPuncher who showed one-sided highlights. I do not like those because it does not tell the story of the game.
I am redoing all the 2011/2012 games in 720p with WH style editing. I'm gonna try my luck by uploading them all when I finish all of them.
I've been pushing the collection along all summer, redoing some games in HD quality and buying games from people that weren't already in the WH batch like 2006 vs NW and 1986 at ND.

I understand what you're saying about one-sided highlights (Brian has also asked me to consider putting in opponent stuff to provide perspective), but I just can't bring myself to include anything from the opponent. I just can't. I used to - the earliest parkinggod videos (esp. 2003 Ohio) were cut several ways, including one version that showed (e.g.) all the Ohio scores. I can't watch that one anymore. That makes me Slappy Uberhomer, sure, but I'm OK with that.
tl;dr: if you want the whole game story, parkinggod highlights aren't for you.
I think I have the 2006 NW and maybe the 1986 ND games buried deep in my archives somewhere (although the ND game may have been a replay from ESPN Classic). Let me know if you're interested.

Didn't intend that to sound like a shot at you. I'm really archiving all of this just for myself or my kids someday to look back on X amount of years after the game. And I'm sure a lot of other peole enjoy looking back at games, too.
Here is my list of games I am searching for. Most of them I can buy from people but I would like to not have to pay. Let me know.
