Brandon Peters Senior Highlights
Brandon Peters released his senior season highlights today. He has a legitimate argument for the #1 QB in this class, and a perfect fit for Harbaugh's offense as well. Max Preps reports stats of 188/315 2,803 yards, 35 TDs vs 5 Ints. Can't wait for this kid to get on campus. Enjoy:

He's a 5 star 4 star...
November 15th, 2015 at 8:16 PM ^
And he'll look even better when he's throwing to Nauta
November 15th, 2015 at 7:15 PM ^
Still hope he doesn't have to strap up until he's a Redshirt Sophomore but that's certainly promising.
November 15th, 2015 at 7:19 PM ^
If he's good enough to start from day one.............then he must start.

I hope he's as good as advertized but I'd like to think the experience and maturity of one of O'Korn, Speight, or one of the others could rise above what Mr. Peters has coming in.
November 15th, 2015 at 7:23 PM ^
I didn't say anything about him not being good enough... But lets be honest, we shouldn't have to rush a freshman to start from day one.
And him leap-frogging O'Korn, Speight, and Gentry probably isn't a good sign.
November 15th, 2015 at 7:51 PM ^
I view it like this..I want the guy who's going to give us the best chance to win starting at QB. And if Peters comes in and leap-frogs those guys, I actually view that as a great sign of things to come.
I do agree with you in regards to starting a true-freshman QB in that it rarely works out. Henne was an exception to the rule, but he also had Braylon that bailed him out A LOT. The only rule I live by now is TRUST HARBAUGH.
November 15th, 2015 at 8:06 PM ^
We all want Harbaugh to play the best QB...and he will, no question.
All they're saying is that they hope he doesn't come in as the best QB on the roster and we have better guys on the team so that he can redshirt.
November 15th, 2015 at 10:34 PM ^
It's not just about the physical tools and ridiculous arm talent. He has to internalize the system, while being in the system i.e. develop the muscle memory and instincts required to excel optimally in the scheme. Not just memorizing the plays and audibles. That takes time. Harbaugh can't mind meld him nor upload it like Neo learning Kung Fu. He'll need at least a redshirt year. If he beats out the more experienced (and also quite talented) guys ahead of him on the roster than it's less than ideal for the position.

"He is going to be redshirted, that was part of the things we talked about, Coach Harbaugh said ‘Brandon, we’re going to redshirt you, and I want to make sure you’re OK with that because we are going to do this the right way. I redshirted Andrew Luck, I’m going to redshirt you and if you follow the process, good things will happen."
November 15th, 2015 at 8:47 PM ^
I hadn't read that quote. I saw another one where Peters said he recognized that he'd be likely to redshirt, but that he wanted the opportunity to compete for the job.
November 15th, 2015 at 7:44 PM ^
He is good enough. He just won't be better than Taysom Hill and John O'Korn.

You still think Hill is transfering here? I doubt it happens. Too many QBs already in the fold and he's one of the most injury prone QBs I've ever seen.

a little higher than Peters. Now Peters is #79 and deWeaver is #351. It's so nice to have a coach that can evaluate (and teach) QBs.

This young man is legit. Can't imagine what he will be like after a few years with JH. The future is bright indeed.

he threw for 6 TD's in that game, amazing arm, touch, accuracy, athletic and can scramble....he will start at some point, when is the question.

Peters is on a Beilein-esqe level rise in recruiting rankings. He's going to be a big time QB for us down the road.

Hoping he's just as good under center, his highlights mostly show snaps out of the gun (suppose its the nature of the offense). Would be interested to see if he's as good with play action.
November 15th, 2015 at 8:19 PM ^
Peters' arm strength is noticably better from when he committed (I know, shocking...a 17-year old got stronger).
He used to throw his whole body into the deep throws. No more. He can sit back and drive the ball.
It's weird...he actually looked a lot like Rudock did yesterday in that highlight tape. Maybe a touch more speed?

I like Peters and Gentry so much. I like em both.
I think the only way we're going to get both guys on the field is if Gentry moves to TE. He could be a monster
November 15th, 2015 at 8:38 PM ^
There's a lot of great options to choose from over the next few years. O'Korn, Gentry, Peters, Viramontes I think could all do great things in Harbaugh's offense. The best will be the one to play, and I think all of these guys could be great. Gotta like where this program is heading under our head man.

will nose out Peters during next summers camp. It would be great if Peters could RS as a freshman. Gentry, Speight, Malzone or Morris will be the backup. I'm sure we'll see a few transfers next season.
